UPSC CDS 2020 Application Form

Before applying for the UPSC CDS 2020 part I, the applicants have to make sure that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria laid down by the conducting authority. Only those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the governing body will be considered for admission into the subsequent stages of the UPSC CDS 2020 part I examination. In case a candidate fails to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria, he/she will not be allowed to take part in the further stages of the UPSC CDS 2020 part I examination.

The candidates must also take note of the fact that merely receiving the admission certificate issued by the Commission will not imply the approval of his/her candidature. The last date to fill the online application form for UPSC CDS 2020 part I examination 19 November 2019. In case an applicant wants to withdraw his/her online application form, the same can be done between 26 November 2019 and 03 December 2019.

All the eligible candidates will be issued their UPSC CDS 2020 part I admit card three weeks prior to the commencement of the exam. The applicants must enter their valid email address during filling up of the UPSC CDS 2019 part II online application form.

Documents Required for Filling Up of UPSC CDS 2020 Application Form

The applicants must keep all these following documents handy with them when they begin filling up the online application form for UPSC CDS 2020 Part I examination:

  • Class Xth certificate and mark sheet

  • Class XIIth certificate and mark sheet

  • Graduation degree mark sheet (all semesters)

  • Mark sheet of all semesters (for final year students pursuing their degree)

  • Scanned signature and photograph (photo should not be older than 3 months)

Step by Step Process to Apply for UPSC CDS 2020

The detailed step by step process to apply for UPSC CDS 2020 part I examination will help the applicants in filling up their UPSC CDS 2020 part I online application form. The steps are as follows:

Part I Registration (FIrst Phase)

  • The applicants, in the first place, will be required to visit the official UPSC website www.upsconline.nic.in or click on the direct link provided above

  • The applicants have to next click on the link that reads “Part I Registration”

  • The applicants will be taken to a new page which will contain all the important instructions regarding how to fill the online application form

  • The applicants have to scroll to the extreme bottom of the page and click on the affirmative option

  • Then the applicants will be taken to a new page where they have to enter all their personal details

  • After filling up their details, the applicants have to click on the “Continue” button

  • After filling up their personal details, the applicants have to provide their preference for AFA/IMA/INA/OTA in decreasing order

  • In case a candidate possess a senior division NCC ‘C’ certificate or currently serving in the Armed Forces, he/she will be required to specify that

  • The candidates have to cross check all the details entered by them before clicking on the “Submit” button

  • After clicking on the “Submit” button, the candidates have to take a print out of the “Part I Registration” page which will consist of the Unique Registration ID etc

Part I Registration (Second Phase)

  • After completing the “Part I Registration”, the applicants have to go back to the online application page and click on the “Part II Registration” link

  • The applicants will be redirected to a new page where they have to enter their Unique Registration ID and Date of Birth

  • The applicants will be required to pay the application fee first via any of the available payment methods

  • Following the payment of the online application fee, the candidates have to upload their recent passport sized colour photograph and signature as per the specifications mentioned

  • The candidates have to check if the quality of the image and signature they have uploaded is satisfactory by clicking on the “Preview” button

  • Next, the candidates have to choose the exam centre from a list of available UPSC CDS 2020 part I exam centres

  • Finally, the candidates have to take out a printed copy of the “Part II Registration” page for future reference

The following are the important pointers that the candidates must be aware of while filling up the online application form for UPSC CDS 2020 part I examination:

  • The applicants must refrain themselves from submitting more than one online application form

  • In case an applicant submits more than one online application form, it must be ensured that the application form with a higher Registration ID must be completely filled because in such case, only the higher RID application form will be considered by the authority

  • The candidates have to pay the application fee for each RID separately

  • Those candidates who are currently serving in the Armed Forces or any other organisations must directly submit their online applications to the Commission provided they have notified the head office (where they are currently employed) regarding the examination
