Established in 2004, the Army Institute of Fashion & Design is located in Bangalore. The institute was formed under the guidance of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) offering specifically design courses. Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD) conducts the AIFD WAT exam every year, which is a written admission for admission to design courses. Check out the courses offered by the institute below:

As AIFD WAT application form is now released on the website. Candidates will be required to proceed with the application process by filling a google form. So, here we are with the steps to fill out the application form:

• Step 1. Registration: The first step is to register online on the official website of AIFD. 
• Step 2. Pay the Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 1,000 to successfully register themselves for the AIFD WAT exam. 
• Step 3. Download the AIFD WAT Admit Card: The Admit card will be released a few days before the exam date. Candidates will receive the same on their registered email ID. However, if a candidate doesn't receive the admit card within the specified time, they have to report the issue to the principal of AIFD with their name, address, and application form number.

Candidates who are going to appear for AIFD WAT 2024 should be aware of the specified eligibility criteria by the conducting body. 

Criteria for Children of Army Personnel

The first criterion is for the candidates who are children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel, and wards of Army war widows/widows of the Army. Candidates who fall under the below-mentioned categories of Army personnel can apply for admission at AIFD. However, they are required to submit a certificate as specified as proof of eligibility. 

1. Candidates must belong to either of the below categories:

• Children of Army Personnel who have continuously served in the Army for 10 years. 
• It also includes candidates who are children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, family pension, or disability pension during the time of their demise, discharge, superannuation, invalid or release medical board. This also has candidates medically boarded out and granted disability pensions. 

2. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:

• Candidates who are wards of ex-Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers who are also currently serving with the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN / IAF) are eligible to apply. They must have served for 10 years duration.

3. Adopted / Step Children and Children of Re-married Widows:

• This criteria enables candidates who are born from a marriage where one parent has served in the Army. 
• Children adopted 5 years before seeking admission are eligible to apply at AIFD. 

4. Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS / MNS / TA Personnel

• Candidates who are children of APS personnel on deputation and who have served 10 years in the Army.
• The ones belonging to APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter are eligible for AIFD WAT. 
• Also, candidates who fulfil both above pointers and have retired without reversion to the P&T department after serving a minimum of 10 years of pensionable years. 
• Children of MNC members who are regular members and have served for 10 years or are in receipt of pension from the Army. 
• Candidates who are children of TA personnel. They must also have completed 10 years of Embodied Service. 
• Children of serving Assam Rifles personnel and both IN & IAF personnel serving and retired. 
• Candidates of civ. based on their NIFT scores or OAT score of AIFD. 

Educational Qualification Criteria 

Candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or equivalent from any stream scoring a minimum of 35% from a recognised board, affiliated with the UGC. Only candidates who have studied in classes 11 and 12 as regular students for two years will be eligible to apply for both courses namely, BSc FAD and BSc IDD. 

Physical Fitness 

Candidates must have acquired a certificate from an MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practitioner stating that they are physically and mentally fit to pursue this course.

The admission process for the AIFD WAT exam can be easily traced below in simple steps:

• Step 1. Sit for the AIFD WAT exam: The written admission test will be conducted online for admission at AIFD. 
• Step 2. Check out the AIFD WAT result: The results of the AIFD WAT exam will be released online on the official website. So, candidates who are shortlisted for this exam have to pay the admission fee and secure their admission. 
• Step 3. Wait for the final result: The final list of candidates will be announced on the official website of AIFD.

• Intelligence and Reasoning
• English Language Competency and Comprehension

The AIFD WAT 2024 exam pattern will be of 100 marks which has to be attempted in 3 hours. It will include objective-type questions and the paper will be in English medium only. There will be no negative marking in the exam. Check out more details below:

The AIFD WAT 2024 admit card will be released before the exam dates on the official website of AIFD. However, if a candidate doesn’t find their admit card online, they must report it to the principal of AIFD with their name, application form number, and address.
