The candidate must be an Indian national and a resident of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Applicants must have passed the SSC examination conducted by the State Board of Secondary Education of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, or an equivalent examination at the Class 10 level.
Applicants must have had Maths as one of the compulsory subjects and they must have qualified with at least 35% marks in aggregate.

There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the AP POLYCET 2026 examination, However, there are limitations in age as far as the scholarship is considered. Scholarships will be given as described by the Social Welfare Department.

1% reservation is given to students belonging to the General category.
0.5% of seats are available for the Sports Category candidates. Such Candidates must produce certificates issued by the State Government or Central Government of events that have been held solely by the government.
3% of the seats for the Physically Handicapped, 1% for the Visually Impaired, 1% for the Hearing Impaired, and 1% for the Orthopaedically Handicapped candidates are reserved. On the other hand candidates with a despairing life (deaf and dumb, muscular dystrophy, mentally retarded and blind) are not at all eligible for admission through AP POLYCET 2026.
