JCECE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

JCECEB will be conducting the JCECE, or Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam. Candidates who are interested in sitting for the JCECE exam 2024 must go through the eligibility criteria and make sure they fulfill all the points. The JCECE eligibility criteria 2024 states that a candidate must be a local or permanent resident of Jharkhand and must have passed Class 12th from the recognized board to sit for the exam. The JCECE 2024 eligibility criteria include educational qualification, age limit, minimum marks, subjects, etc. The eligibility criteria vary specialization-wise. 

JCECE is a state-level entrance exam administered by JCECEB for admission to first-year/professional courses such as B.V.Sc. & A.H, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.F.Sc, B.Tech Agriculture Engineering, and B.Sc.

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) conducts the lateral entry entrance exam. It is a gateway that admits interested candidates to the second year of the four-year regular BE/BTech programmes through the lateral entry scheme. JCECE 2024 Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Domicile

The JCECE 2024 eligibility criteria are laid down by the exam conducting committee. All the candidates who want to participate in the exam have to fulfill all the factors of the eligiblity criteria or their JCECE application form 2024 will not be accepted. JCECE 2024 Eligiblity Criteria: Age Limit

  • For B.tech and B.Sc. Agricultural, Dairy Technology, Forestry & Horticulture and B.F.Sc.- The age of the applicant should be between 17 years and 22 years on or before 1st July of the year of admission (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/OBC students).
  • For Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 25 on or before December 31st of the year of admission (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

JCECE 2024 Eligiblity Criteria: Domicile Rule

  • The applicant must be an Indian Citizen
  • The applicant must be a permanent/local resident of Jharkhand as determined by the Raj Bhasa, Government of Jharkhand.
  • They must have obtained an appropriate Local Resident Certificate, which must be shown during JCECE counselling (issued by competent authority).

JCECE Educational Qualifications 2024

For Engineering Courses-

  • Applicants seeking admission in the B.Tech course have to qualify 12th /I.S.c or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
  • At least 45% of marks in the above-given subjects is a must. Applicants belonging to any of the reserved categories must have at least 40% marks.
  • Final year appearing applicants can also apply.

For Agriculture and Forestry Courses-

  • Applicants looking for Agriculture and Forestry Course will have to qualify Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology.
  • Applicants appearing in the class 12th exam or equivalent exam may also apply for JCECE 2024.

For BHMS Courses-

  • There are no minimum percentage criteria for BHMS Course.
  • Applicants must have cleared 12th class exam or equivalent exam with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.

For Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] Courses-

  • Applicants applying for Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] course must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.
  • Applicants appearing in class 12th or equivalent exam may also apply for the entrance exam

JCECE Reservation 2024

JCECE Reservation 2024 will be taken into account at JCECE Counselling. To be eligible for the reservation, the candidate must have obtained a legitimate Local Resident Certificate from the official designated by the Government of Jharkhand. Go through the JCECE reservation criteria stated below.

JCECE 2024 Reservation for Disabled Candidates

Applicants with a minimum of 40% impairment or disability in the following areas can be eligible for seat reservations in participating institutes:

  • Low eyesight and blindness
  • Deaf and hard of hearing people
  • Cerebral palsy, healed leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy are all examples of locomotor disabilities.
  • Autism, intellectual impairment, particular learning disability and mental illness
  • Several impairments among those covered by clauses (a) to (d), including deaf-blindness.

Note- At the time of JCECE counselling, such candidates must present a full-size photograph and a Certificate of Disability issued by a Civil Orthopedics Doctor of the District Hospital/ Civil Surgeon of Jharkhand state.

JCECE Local Resident Certificate

The Local Resident Certificate is a compulsory document for taking the JCECE. To get the Local Resident Certificate, you must meet the following requirements: 

  • Jharkhand should be the candidate's birthplace.
  • Either the candidate or his or her parents or guardians must have lived in Jharkhand for at least 15 years.
  • The candidate or their parents must own property or manage a company that has been approved by the Jharkhand government.
  • One of his or her parents should:
  • Working for the Government of Jharkhand as a government official
  • Worked under the Government of India as a Government official but transferred to Jharkhand for services
  • The wife of a Jharkhand resident is likewise considered a Jharkhand resident. As a result, the spouse's residency certificate is also relevant in this scenario.
  • In addition, the wives and children of All-India Service personnel would be identified as Jharkhand residents.
  • If the candidate's parent is a Military Personnel along with a citizen of Jharkhand and he has not been deployed in Jharkhand for duty, he would be regarded a Local Resident of Jharkhand. It is not mandatory for the candidate to have an academic qualification from a Jharkhand institution. This will only apply to Defense Service Employees.
  • Ex-Defence Servicemen's children will be excused from presenting the Local Resident Certificate for JCECE 2024 Counselling.
  • For Kashmiri migrants, a residence certificate is not necessary.
  • If the candidate's parent is a registered migrant in Jharkhand, he or she will also be considered a Local Resident.

In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, the following points are also taken into account:

  • The candidate must have completed 7 years of schooling from any school in Jharkhand.
  • The candidate must have passed the following examinations from a Jharkhand educational institution:
  • The candidate must have completed his/her qualifying test in order to be admitted to any recognized university at the graduate level.
  • Scores from the eighth grade are considered for admission to any university or intermediate board exam (I.SC.), 10+2, or any other similar qualifying examination.
  • In other cases, class 4th scores are taken into account.
