SSC CGL Paper Analysis

SSC CGL paper analysis for the Tier-I examination which commenced on the 4th of June 2019 is available now for the students who appeared for the same. The SSC CGL examination was conducted in 3 shifts, i.e morning, noon and evening and CollegeDekho has included the detailed analysis and section-wise analysis of SSC CGL Tier-I examination for the same in this page.

The SSC CGS Tier-I paper was divided into four sections, i.e General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension and General Awareness. Each of the sections consisted of 25 questions and each question carried 2 marks. The SSC CGL Tier-I paper analysis will also include the number of attempts needed by the exam takers to score good marks and to be eligible for the SSC CGL 2019 Tier-II examination. The questions that were asked in the SSC CGL 2019 Tier-I paper were all based on SSC CGL syllabus and there were some instances where the questions were repeated. The SSC CGL 2019 Tier-I paper was for 200 marks and those who appeared for the same found the overall difficulty level of the question papers to be moderately difficult.

Section-Wise SSC CGL Paper Analysis

The SSC CGL paper analysis will give an indication of the difficulty level and the number of good attempts required by the candidates to qualify for the Tier-II of the SSC CGL 2019 examination.

SSC CGL General Intelligence & Reasoning Detailed Analysis

This section consisted of 25 questions where each question was for 2 marks. Speaking to the test takers, CollegeDekho inferred that the SSC CGL General Intelligence & Reasoning section was moderately difficult. Questions based on Analogy, Coding, Finding the Odd One out, Statement, Conclusions etc dominated this section. The students, however, found the Blood Relations questions to be relatively difficult. There were very few questions based on Matrix which kind of surprised the candidates. Questions related to Coding-Decoding were the easiest of all.

SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude Detailed Analysis

The 25 questions that were asked in the quantitative aptitude section were between easy to moderate in the difficulty level scale. The students found this section to be the lengthiest of all the sections. A few questions in this section required rigorous calculations. Most of the questions that were asked in this section were from Algebra, Average, DI, Number System, Trigonometry etc.  

SSC CGL English Comprehension Detailed Analysis

The English Comprehension section saw a deviation from the previous year SSC CGL examination. This year, there was no reading comprehension which was replaced by the Cloze Test. The maximum number of questions were based on the Cloze Test which also consisted of questions of Sentence Improvement, Error Detection, Synonyms & Antonyms etc. The overall difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate.

SSC CGL General Awareness Detailed Analysis

The General Awareness section was the easiest among all the sections in the SSC CGL Tier-I exam, felt the students. Students were asked questions from Static GK, Current Affairs, History etc. There were also some questions based on Dance and Sports whereas to everybody’s surprise, the maximum number of questions were based on Science.

Overall SSC CGL Paper Analysis

According to the students, the overall difficulty level of the SSC CGL 2019 paper was easy to moderate based on the preparation strategy employed by them during the preparatory stages. The SSC CGL Tier-I paper had some surprises as well. There were a few things that were not expected by the students while some of the questions were also repeated. Experts believe that candidates with an attempt rate between 66 to 70 in the SSC CGL 2019 Tier-I examination will have a fair chance of getting selected for the next round.
