UPSC CSE Result 2026 will be released in June 2026 for prelims. The main exam result is expected to be released in November 2026. The marksheets for all the candidates will be uploaded on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in. The marksheets will be available within 15 days from the date of the publication of the final result. The marksheets will be available for 30 days on the official website.
UPSC initially releases the roll numbers of the selected students on the official website. The PDF contains a lot of roll numbers, in which you can search for your roll numbers. The roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the Personality Test (Interview) for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’) will be mentioned in the PDF.
After the results are announced, candidates are required to produce the original certificates in support of their eligibility/reservation claims viz. age, educational qualifications, community, economically weaker section, Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD,) and other documents such as TA Form, etc. at the time of their Personality Test (Interview). It is also compulsory for the candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-servicemen etc., to have produced original certificate(s).

According to the trends from the previous years, it has been observed that the success rate in the UPSC CSE exam is less than 1%. The UPSC CSE exam is conducted in three stages- Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview-cum-Personality Test. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) releases the separate UPSC CSE result 2026 after the conduct of each stage mentioned below.
The Prelims exam will be conducted on May 25, 2026. The results will be available on the official website of UPSC after the conclusion of the papers. The prelims result will be released in a PDF format on the official website. The PDF will contain the list of roll numbers of the students who are short-listed for the next round. To be eligible for the main exam, you are required to pass both the papers of prelims that is General Studies and CSAT.
UPSC CSE Mains will be conducted from August 22, 2026. The exam will continue for 5 days. The main results will be available on the official website in a PDF format which will include the roll numbers of the selected students. Candidates who pass the main exams will be eligible for the personal interview round.
The final result of the UPSC 2026 exam will be announced by UPSC after all the stages for all the qualified candidates. Candidates qualifying in the Personality tests are considered qualified candidates. Candidates passing the UPSC Civil Services exam are recruited for various posts in Indian Civil Services.
Candidates who have discrepancies in UPSC CSE 2026 Results must note that they will have to inform the discrepancy through the UPSC helpline number in advance. Therefore, you will need to take an immediate step by contacting UPSC.
The candidates who passed the Prelims exam will have to appear for the UPSC CSE Mains exam. The Mains exam is the second stage of the Civil Services Examination. IAS aspirants who clear the Prelims i.e. those who score above the cutoff in General Studies Paper I and more than 33% marks in General Studies Paper-II (CSAT) are eligible to appear for the UPSC Mains.
The candidates who qualify Mains exam will have to appear for the interview process. The results for the UPSC Civil Services exam are declared within a week after the interviews, i.e. between April-June. After the candidates receive the allocation letter, they are given fundamental training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie for 15 weeks.

The UPSC CSE prelims result 2024 date is June 28, 2024. The Union Public Service Commission will release the result on the official website at upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. Candidates can check and download the result by clicking on the 'Prelims Result' link on the official website and entering the required details.
There will be negative marking for incorrect answers for all questions except some of the questions where the negative marking will be inbuilt in the form of different marks being awarded to the most appropriate and not so appropriate answers for such questions.
The minimum cut off marks for Paper 2 is 33 percent. The Commission may fix a minimum cut-off mark for Paper 1 too.
