As per the WB JELET exam pattern 2025, the exam will be conducted offline, using a pen-and-paper format, with a duration of 2 hours. The medium of the exam will be English, and it will consist of multiple-choice questions. There will be a total of 80 questions in Category 1 and 20 questions in Category 2, where one or more options may be correct. For Category 1, 1 mark will be given for every correct answer, with a deduction of ¼ marks for every wrong answer. In Category 2, marking all correct options will yield 2 marks and any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options will be treated as incorrect and yield zero marks. For partially correct answers, the marks awarded will be calculated using the formula 2 x (no of correct options marked/total number of actually correct options).
Category I: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer, while ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Category II: Marking all correct options will result in 2 marks. Any answer containing one or more incorrect options will be considered incorrect and will result in zero marks. For partially correct answers, where not all correct options are marked and no incorrect options are marked, the marks awarded will be calculated using the formula: 2 x (number of correct options marked/total number of correct options).
