APSET 2025 - Registration (Start Jan 9), Notification, Exam Date, Pattern, Syllabus, Cut off

AP SET 2025 Exam Notification was released on December 31, 2025 by the Member Secretary of APSET. Students can download the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2025 notification from the official website of APSET at apset.net.in. The registration process will begin on January 9, 2026. The last date to submit the applications without a late fee until February 9, 2026. Students can submit the applications with a late fee of Rs 2,000 on February 25, 2026. A higher late fee of Rs 5,000 applies can be submitted until March 5, 2026. The AP SET 2025 hall ticket will be made available to download from March 19, 2026. The AP SET 2025 examination will be held on March 28 and 29, 2025.

AP SET is usually conducted for the recruitment or promotion of Assistant Professors or Lecturers in  Universities and Degree Colleges across the Andhra Pradesh state specifically. Before the exam is conducted, an admit card will be provided to the candidates, which will act as a hall ticket. Candidates will be able to download the hall ticket from the official website. Andhra University is responsible for conducting the AP SET exam every year. The AP SET exam is divided into two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 comprises 50 questions, while Paper 2 comprises 100 questions. The AP SET exam pattern will include subjects such as English, Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science, Telugu, etc.

• Paper 1 (General Studies) covers subjects including Teaching & Research Aptitude, Reasoning, Communication, and Higher Education.
• Paper 2 (Subject-Specific) will be conducted for the subject chosen by the candidate from 30 available options.
• The time duration for Paper 1 is 1 hour.
• The time duration for Paper 2 is 2 hours.
• Both papers consist of objective-type questions.
• Paper 1 comprises 50 questions.
• 100 questions will be asked in Paper 2.
• Paper - I will be common for all candidates appearing APSET and will be bilingual (English and Telugu) in nature.
• Paper – II will be conducted for 30 subjects and the following subjects, a) Commerce b) Economics c) Education d) History e) Political Science f) Public Administration and g) Sociology, will be bilingual (English and Telugu).
• All the remaining papers will be conducted in English language only except Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu and Urdu.
• Paper I is of General Awareness and carries 100 marks. It comprises 50 compulsory objective-type questions of 2 marks each. 
• Paper-II comprises 100 compulsory objective-type questions of 2 marks each from the subject selected by the candidate. Hence, the total marks of Paper II are 200.
