The CAT 2025 exam pattern is similar to previous years, with 68 questions split into three parts: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Each section lasts 40 minutes, making the total duration 2 hours. The test includes both multiple-choice and type-in answer questions, but only MCQs have negative marking. The exam fee remains around INR 2,400, with no major updates expected in pattern or fees for 2025.
As per the official CAT 2025 notification by IIM Kozhikode, the CAT 2025 admit cards will be made available to download starting from November 5, 2025, to November 30, 2025, on the official website @iimcat.ac.in.
The CAT 2025 exam consists of three parts: VARC (24 questions), DILR (22 questions), and QA (22 questions), totalling 68 questions. The duration is 120 minutes with 40 minutes per section. The exam consists of multiple-choice and some type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions. You must follow the fixed order of sections, and you cannot switch between them. Negative marking applies for wrong answers in MCQs, but not for TITA questions.
If you are planning to take the IIM CAT 2025 exam, you should know that you need to have finished your graduation with at least 50% marks from a recognised university. However, if you belong to the SC, ST, or PwD categories, you only need 45%. The official CAT 2025 notification also explains the detailed eligibility rules and how reservations work at the IIMs.
