Factors Affecting CAT 2021 Cut Off

CAT participating institutes consider a few things before announcing the CAT final cutoff. The following factors were taken into consideration to determine the CAT cut off 2021:

  • The difficulty level of the CAT 2021 exam
  • Number of candidates who appeared for the CAT 2021 exam
  • Number of candidates who qualified the CAT 2021 exam
  • Number of seats available for a specific course in a particular institute
  • Number of candidates shortlisted for the GD/PI round
  • Ranking of the particular institute

What After the Release of CAT 2021 Cutoff

If the candidates meet the minimum requirements of the IIMs they had chosen for admission in the CAT application form, they will have to apply for WAT/GD-PI after the announcement of the CAT 2021 result. The CAT score, WAT/GD-PI round, and final selection are the three stages of the IIM selection process that involve evaluating candidates. The majority of IIMs conduct their WAT, GD, and PI rounds from February to April. Successful candidates then receive offers of admission in May.

Dear Student,

CAT percentile is calculated using the formula “( 1 - All India Rank(Total Candidates in the Exam) * 100%”. You can understand this by example. Suppose 100 students appeared in the exam and you ranked 2nd then there are 98 students who have ranked below you. In that case, your percentile will be calculated as (98/100)x100 = 98 %tile. You must note that the CAT scorecard will show the final percentile up to two decimal places only. Those who have scored more than 98 percentile in the exam will have higher chances of getting a call from IIMs …
