On the other hand, Part B was deemed to be of moderate difficulty. Numerous candidates have asserted that the FMGE 2023 question paper for the December session is notably more manageable and scoring compared to the July session.
Approximately 90% of the test-takers have confirmed their complete satisfaction with the question pattern, difficulty level, and the overall time allotted to candidates. However, the remaining 10% still grapple with understanding the essence of the difficulty level of the FMGE 2023 Exam.
Furthermore, individuals who took the Part B exam reported that the difficulty level of the second paper was categorized as 'moderate.' Part B of the FMGE 2023 December Exam predominantly focused on clinical subjects and theory.
Question Patterns and Difficulty Levels:
FMGE 2023 Exam for December session Part A reportedly consisted of more practical-based questions, challenging the basic concepts of medical sciences and practice, as per the students' reactions. The difficulty level of the paper was 'easy', and the paper consisted of questions challenging the basic concepts and understanding of the candidates about the field.
The Part A question paper also had a few one-liners and lengthy questions according to some, although not difficult to answer. Nevertheless, test-takers were pleasantly surprised by the difficulty level of the FMGE 2023 December Exam Question Paper, and therefore, have expressed their satisfaction over the question patterns set by the authorities.
The Part B question paper of the FMGE 2023 December Exam was, however, interestingly difficult in comparison to the first paper.
Subjects with High Weightage:
In FMGE 2023 December Exam, subjects such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Pathology were given higher weightage as per the test-takers.
However, according to 75% of the test-takers, maximum questions in Part A of the examination were framed from the following subjects: Biochemistry, Ear, and Nose.
Number of Questions Attempted:
Based on the reactions of the test-takers, majority of the candidates (95%) were successful in attempting around 90-100 out of 150 questions in the Part A (non-clinical) paper of FMGE 2023 Exam. Moreover, all candidates seemed equally satisfied with the FMGE 2023 Question Paper for December session, which comprised all major topics from the FMGE 2023 Syllabus.
Time Allotted and Its Adequacy:
After enquiring candidates whether the time allotted for the FMGE 2023 December Exam was adequate, a total of about 97% test-takers responsed with a positive "yes", indicating a properly organised question pattern by the authorities in favour of the candidates, for which no candidate felt pressurized to complete their entrance exam in a rush.
However, a mere 3% of test-takers responded with disappointment while talking about the adequacy of the exam duration.
Overall Exam Experience:
Overall, the FMGE 2023 December Exam was comparatively easier than the July exam session, as per the recorded responses of the candidates. The overall preparations, the exam pattern, syllabus, question pattern, and individual hard work played crucial roles in deciding the overall exam experience of the FMGE 2023 December Exam, which took place on January 20, 2024. Hence, these must be truly analyzed by the future test-takers, to excel and exceed their expected results.

The survey results revealed that the overall difficulty of the FMGE July 2023 exam was perceived as moderate by 62.3% of the candidates. On the other hand, 37.7% of candidates considered the exam to be difficult, indicating a varied level of complexity that challenged different test-takers.
Question Patterns and Difficulty Levels:
The FMGE July 2023 analysis of question patterns showed that the exam comprised three main types of questions. Clinical questions constituted 35.2% of the paper, requiring candidates to apply medical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Concept-based questions made up 55.6% of the exam, testing candidates' understanding of fundamental principles. Additionally, 9.3% of the questions were in the form of one-liners, assessing concise knowledge.
Regarding the difficulty level of the questions, 35.2% of candidates found the questions challenging, while a majority (63%) considered them to be of moderate difficulty. The remaining 1.8% perceived the questions as easy. Some candidates highlighted that they encountered one-liner questions that were entirely unfamiliar, presenting a unique challenge.
Subjects with High Weightage:
The survey identified specific subjects with high weightage in the FMGE July 2023 exam. These subjects included Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBG), Surgery, Medicine, Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM), Pharmacology, Paediatrics, Biochemistry, and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT). Candidates preparing for the exam can focus on these subjects to improve their chances of scoring well.
Number of Questions Attempted:
Efficient time management is crucial in any competitive exam. According to the survey, a significant majority of candidates (96.4%) attempted 150-200 questions in the FMGE July 2023 exam. This suggests that candidates, in general, were able to cover a substantial portion of the paper within the allocated time frame.
Time Allotted and Its Adequacy:
When asked about the time allotted for the exam, 75% of the students stated that the given time was sufficient for them to complete the test. This positive feedback indicates that a considerable number of candidates managed their time effectively and completed the exam without feeling rushed. However, 25% of the candidates expressed that they found the allotted time insufficient to finish the exam comfortably.
Overall Exam Experience:
Overall, the FMGE July 2023 exam experience was a mix of challenges and successes for candidates. Most students were able to solve paper 1 on time.
Candidates struggled while attempting paper 2 questions. As the question asked were brief, students had to spend a lot of time in analysis. There were minimum hints given in the question.

Pharmacology consists of 13% weightage in FMGE. Physiology has a 17% weightage. Topics from Biochemistry and Anatomy comprise 17% weightage as per FMGE 2024 Paper Analysis.
Candidates have to secure at least 150 marks out of 300 in the FMGE 2024. Students who bag marks above 150 are declared passed and eligible to receive medical licenses.
