Predict your percentile based on your FMGE performance
Predict NowCandidates applying for the examination must check the eligibility criteria for FMGE (Foreign Graduates Medical Examination) so that they can understand the exact guidelines and procedures of the entrance exam. The National Board of Education (NBE) prescribes the eligibility criteria for the Indian citizen or Overseas citizen of India who has passed a primary medical degree from abroad. This exam is mainly conducted for the applicants who wish to start practising in India.
Only if these Overseas candidates clear FMGE, then they would be eligible to register under the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council. FMGE is conducted twice a year, i.e., June & December. Aspirants can appear for either the June or December session of the FMGE exam. Candidates who fail to clear the exam in one session can aspire for the next session of the FMGE exam. There is no limit on the number of attempts that a candidate can appear for FMGE.
The applicants of FMGE 2022 must know the NBE prescribed eligibility criteria. The CollegeDekho.com has brought you here with the required eligibility criteria for Overseas candidates or Indian candidates.
The applicant must be a citizen of India or Overseas and they must have some minimum medical qualification, confirmed by the Indian Embassy.
Candidates must hold a recognised qualification for enrollment as a medical practitioner.
Candidates must provide evidence in support of passing the final examination for such primary medical qualification. Candidates must have the primary medical qualification on or before the cut-off date.
Applicants who have UG & PG medical degrees from Australia/Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America are exempted from the FMGE examination. These applicants must also note that they should have been registered as medical practitioners in that particular country.
Candidates can check the Screening Test Regulation, Eligibility Certificate Regulation and Regulation on Graduate Medical Education issued by the MCI (Medical Council of India).
The FMGE is a screening test for the Indian or Overseas candidates who wish to get provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council. Candidates of FMGE can appear for this exam as many times as they want. But they will have to meet all the eligibility criteria of the FMGE 2022.
