The Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology conducts the GBPUAT entrance exam at the university level on an annual basis to offer admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in the fields of Agriculture, Basic Science, Technology, and Management.

The GBPUAT 2026 exam is expected to be held in the first week of June 2026, for UG, PG, and PhD courses. The official notification for GBPUAT 2026 will be released by the concerned authorities on the official website @gbpuat.ac.in shortly.

The GBPUAT 2026 application form will be tentatively released in the second week of March 2026. Students must cross-check the GBPUAT 2026 eligibility criteria before they register for the Pantnagar University Entrance Exam 2026.

As per previous years’ trends, the GBPUAT 2026 results are expected to be released in the second week of June 2026. The GBPUAT 2026 counselling and choice filling process will then begin in the third week of July 2026.

The GBPUAT 2026, or the Pantnagar University Entrance Exam, is a university-level entrance exam that is conducted by the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Uttarakhand, on an annual basis to offer admissions in various UG, PG, and PhD courses in streams like Agriculture, Science, Technology, and Management. To promote agricultural courses, the Government of India collaborated with the Agricultural Universities in the United States to establish the Agricultural University. Students are shortlisted for courses based on their performance in the Pantnagar University entrance examination.

The GBPUAT 2026 registrations are expected to begin in March 2026. Students will be able to fill out the GBPUAT application form 2026 till the last week of April 2026. Along with the application form, students will also be able to access the GBPUAT 2026 official notification.

Before filling out the GBPUAT 2026 application form, students are requested to check the GBPUAT 2026 eligibility criteria for the course they are applying for so that their GBPUAT 2026 application form does not get cancelled by the exam authorities. • For BTech. Courses: Candidates must have appeared and qualified for the JEE Main of the current year. Admissions would be granted to BTech courses solely on this basis.
• For the Master’s Programme in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology: Candidates should have appeared and cleared the Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology (GAT-B), and their names should be in the qualified candidates list received from the DBT Regional Center for Biotechnology, Faridabad.
• For Ph.D Programs in Agronomy and Plant Pathology: Should have appeared for ICAR and qualified for the ICAR entrance examination.
• For Master Programmes in MBA/ MBA (Agribusiness): Candidates must have qualified for the CAT and CMAT scores, and a Group Discussion and an Interview conducted by the University.
• For MTech Courses: In MTech, except for MTech in Food Technology, admissions will be through Uttarakhand Technical University. Admissions for Other Seats candidates in MTech Agriculture Engineering majors will be through ICAR.
• For the MCA Program: The GBPUAT exam 2026 will be a university-level entrance exam. Interested candidates willing to take admission should clear the GBPUAT 2026 exam.

Before appearing for the GB Pant University entrance exam 2026, students should have a clear idea of the GBPUAT 2026 exam pattern and syllabus. Students are advised to review the exam pattern and go through the previous year's question papers to understand the difficulty level of the examination. Students appearing for the Pantnagar University Entrance Exam 2026 must go through the GBPUAT syllabus 2026 and exam pattern to understand the types of questions asked in the examination and to get an idea of the overall difficulty level of this university-level examination. • Biology: Zoological studies, Botanical studies

• Agriculture: Agriculture economics, Agronomy, Veterinarian sciences, Food sciences, Horticulture, Crop sciences, Agriculture engineering, animal husbandry, Branch management, etc. 

The GBPUAT Admit Card 2026 will be released in the third week of May 2026. Students will be able to download the admit card for GBPUAT 2026 entrance examination by entering their full name, date of birth, and registration number. The admit card will be made available in the online mode, and the students are required to download it and keep a safe hard copy of it to carry with them on the day of the examination. Photocopies of the GBPUAT 2026 hall ticket will not be accepted. Students must carry the original copies on the day of the exam.

However, if a student does not receive or misplaces their Pantnagar University entrance exam admit card, a duplicate can be obtained from the Superintendent of the Entrance Examination at the respective examination centre. They'll have to pay a fine for this. The GBPUAT admit card 2026 will include the student’s information, as well as the examination centre and times.

As per the previous years’ trends, the GBPUAT result 2026 will be released in the 2nd week of June 2026. The results for the GB Pant University exam are issued by the examination authorities and are displayed on the official website in the form of a scorecard. Students will be required to enter their application ID and password to download their GBPUAT 2026 scorecard. In addition to this, Pantnagar University will also release a merit list that will contain the names of the selected students who are eligible for the counselling process. The ranks for GBPUAT are determined based on several factors. Students can find the tie-breaking policy for GBPUAT exam 2026 as provided below:

• For Undergraduate- If two or more than two candidates secure equal marks, the end result shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in Mental Agility, then Physics, Chemistry and thereafter marks secured in the qualifying examination.

• For Postgraduate/Masters- In the case of two or greater candidates securing equal marks, the result shall be determined on the basis of marks secured in the Aptitude Test and then the qualifying examination.

• For Ph.D - If marks secured by two or more candidates are the same, the end result would be determined on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination.

The GBPUAT Cutoff 2026 will be released by the Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology a few days after the results have been announced. Students who are selected and shortlisted will be contacted further to participate in the GBPUAT counselling process. For the GBPUAT UG examination, if two or more students receive equal marks, then the GBPUAT authorities will release the final merit list based on the scores achieved by these students in the mental ability, physics, and chemistry sections. For the GBPUAT PG exam, if two or more students receive equal marks, then the authorities will announce the final merit list based on the aptitude test and examination results.

Certain seats are reserved via GBPUAT 2026 reservations, as shown in the table below. If a seat reserved for a specific category for Ph.D. programmes remains vacant after counselling sessions, it may be converted to General Category seats and filled by students on the General Category waitlist.

The GBPUAT 2026 counselling process is conducted by the GB University to allocate seats for various courses across different streams and disciplines. Students who have passed the GBPUAT entrance examination and have achieved marks per the GBPUAT cutoff scores will be eligible to participate in the counselling process for their desired course. The counselling for GBPUAT exam takes place in multiple rounds, and it ends only when all the vacant seats have been filled.

• The Pantnagar University entrance exam counseling would continue until the last seat in every program is filled up.

• The candidates are advised to check the website of the University regularly for any update for counseling dates. No separate letter would be sent to candidates.

• The schedule for the Pantnagar University entrance exam counselling would be notified in the newspapers.

• Students must report at the counseling venue as per the schedule given in the counselling letter for checking of relevant documents and depositing fees once the seats are allocated to them.

• Candidates who do not show up at their scheduled time will be given another chance at the end of the day. It is recommended that one arrive on time to secure the desired course and college.
