IMU CET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

IMU CET 2022 or Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test is a common entrance exam conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU). Candidates who are going to appear for this entrance exam are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of IMU CET 2022. The IMU CET 2022 eligibility criteria will include the minimum requirements which must be fulfilled by the candidates. The eligibility criteria will also allow the candidates to know the minimum percentage required and age requirement. After checking the IMU CET 2022 eligibility criteria, candidates may proceed to register for the entrance exam. They may refer to the application process of IMU CET entrance exam.

The minimum age requirement is 17 years while the maximum is 25 years. The candidates belonging to SC or ST will be given a compensation of 5 years in the similar field. All relevant information about the eligibility criteria of IMU CET 2022 are provided below.

Detailed IMU CET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are interested in taking admission through IMU CET 2022 should ensure that they meet all the eligibility norms as given below otherwise their candidature would be cancelled by the organised authority at any stage of the examination. The detailed eligibility norms are given below:

Age:

The minimum age of the applicant should be 17 years and the maximum age should not exceed 25 years.

Medical Fitness:

Applicants applying for B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) degree course have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner. They must also have a good eyesight for clearing the eligibility criteria.

B.Sc

DNS course (One-Year) leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)

  • Applicant should have passed Class 12 /equivalent (PCM 60%).

or

  • Applicant should have passed B.Sc (PCM)/ B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years) with 60% marks.

  • Applicant should have a B.E./B.Tech degree from IIT or college recognised by AICTE with marks not less than 50%.

Note: Marks of English are to be 50% or more in any one of the above given examination.

3 Year B.Sc (Nautical Science)

Applicant should have passed 12th Standard or equivalent with PCM-60% and English- 50% marks.

3 Year B.Sc (Maritime Science)

Applicant should have passed 12th Standard or equivalent with PCM-60% and English- 50% marks.

3 Year B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair)

Applicant should have passed 12th or equivalent examination with PCM-50% and English- 50% marks.

B.Tech

4 Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

Applicant should have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination with PCM-60% and English- 50% marks.

4 Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)

Applicant should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination (PCM-60% & English- 50%).

M.Tech

M.Tech (Marine Engineering and Management)

Applicant should have passed a BE/B.Tech in Marine Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture with at least 60% marks from a recognised University.

or

Associate Member of Institution of Engineers Part A and B in Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks.

Note: Applicants with prescribed GATE/GRE Scores are exempted from IMU’s CET.

2 Year M.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)

Applicant should have Graduate Engg, in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% aggregate.

2 Year M.Tech (Dredging & Harbour Engineering)

Applicant should have Graduate Engg, in Mechanical/ Civil/ Aeronautical/ Marine/ Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% aggregate

MBA

2 year MBA (Port & Shipping Management)

Applicant should have a bachelor's degree in any subject with 50% marks from recognised university (45% marks in case of SC/ST).

2 year MBA (International Transportation & Logistics Management)

Applicant should have a bachelor's degree in any subject with 50% marks from a recognised university (45% marks in case of SC/ST).

Note: In case of SC/ST candidates, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.

Dear Student,

The minimum aggregate which is required for IMU CET is 60% in 12th along with 50% in English subject. However, there is a 5% relaxation for the reserved category candidates. Hence, if you have attained at least 55% aggregate in your 12th with 45% in English subject, then you are eligible for the exam.

Dear Student,

You don't need to qualify IMU CET to get admission to BBA programme at IMU Chennai. IMU CET is organised to shortlist for admission to other courses (except BBA). The admission to BBA course at IMU Chennai is done directly on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying exam. To get admission, you can directly fill the application form online and visit the campus with valid documents for the admission process.
