TS SET 2025 Overview

TS SET 2025 Notification was released on September 30, 2025. The registration for the entrance exams is now open from October 10, 2025, to October 30, 2025. If you are unable to register yourself before the last date, then you will have to pay a late fee. The very last date to fill out the registration form is November 28, 2025. The TS SET Hall Ticket 2025 for the exams will be released from December 3, 2025. You can now go to the official website of Osmania University to fill out the application form for the Telangana State – State Eligibility Test. 

The Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS SET) is an annual state-level entrance examination administered by Osmania University on behalf of the Telangana government. This entrance test is designed to select candidates from Telangana for positions as assistant professors or lecturers in the state's universities and colleges. Conducted online each year, the exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Candidates are required to sit for both papers to qualify for recruitment. Paper I assesses General Knowledge for all candidates, while Paper II offers a choice of 29 subjects for candidates to specialize in. Further details are provided below.

TS SET Eligibility Criteria 2025

There is a certain eligibility criterion that is to be followed before filling out the application form for TS SET. Check out the guidelines below: 

  • General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree (i.e., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.PEd., MCJ, LLM, MCA, and M.E/M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply. However, in the case of the Backward Classes (BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree are eligible for this Test.
  • The candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree course or the candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed, may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for eligibility for Assistant Professor / Lecturer after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC/SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disability) category candidates. Such candidates must complete their Master’s Degree examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified. 
  • Candidates belonging to the third gender, in other words, transgender, would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age, and qualifying criteria for TG-SET examination as are available to SC/ST/ PwD categories.
  • The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
  • Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only.
  • Candidates are neither required to send any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility nor print out their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to the TG-SET office. However, the candidates, in their own interest, must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. Also, the candidates must show the original certificates at the stage of certificate verification. This is applicable only to the qualified candidates. In the event of any ineligibility being detected by the TG-SET at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.
  • Candidates having a Post-Graduate Diploma awarded by an Indian University/ Institute or a Foreign Degree/Diploma awarded by a Foreign University/Institute should, in their own interest, ascertain the equivalence of their Degree/Diploma with a Master’s Degree of recognized Indian universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.   • Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.

  • There is no age limit to apply for TS SET 2025.

Dear Student,

As per the TS SET 2024 qualifying cutoff requirements, you need to score 35% in both papers taken together. For reserved category students, the qualifying cutoff is 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together. Additionally, TS SET only offers qualification status to 6% of the students who appear for the TS SET exam, and as per the slot allocation reservation policy, only 7% of the BC-D category students will be allocated slots for the Assistant Professor eligibility status.
