UPSC ESE Application Form 2026 (Closed for Prelims)

UPSC released the UPSC ESE Application Form 2026 for the UPSC IES 2026 exam on September 26, 2025, on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in, to fill up 474 posts in the organization. The last date to apply for the UPSC ESE 2026 exam was October 16, 2025 at 6 PM. Candidates could fill out the application form online before the deadline by entering their Email ID and Password. UPSC ESE IES 2026 prelims exam will be conducted on Feb 8, 2026, and the ESE Main exam will be conducted on June 21, 2026. The UPSC ESE 2026 application fee for all candidates is INR 200 which can be paid either by remitting the money to any Branch of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank. Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from paying any application fee. The application form will be kept as a record of candidates and further used as the official document. It is necessary for candidates to carefully fill out all the details and submit the form within the deadline mentioned by the UPSC. It is an important form, from which various questions can be asked. Hence, candidates should provide correct information, following the instructions. After the Mains exam, the selected candidates will be called for an interview at UPSC's headquarters at Dholpur House in Delhi.

Steps to fill out UPSC ESE Application Form 2026

The step by step process to fill the UPSC ESE 2026 application form has been discussed below - 

• Go to the official website of Union Public Service Commission.

• Click on the tab ‘Apply Online’.

• Fill in the required details (name, age, educational qualifications, nationality, date of birth, contact number, e-mail id, etc.) in the form.

• Read the instructions given before filling in the details. 

• Click on the registration link and register yourself for both the parts (Prelims and Mains).

• Read all the information carefully to avoid mistakes and getting debarred from the examination. 

• Upload the required documents along with a scanned copy of your photograph and signature in less than 40KB (but not less than 3kb) file size.

• You will be required to pay the application fees in the first part of the registration form. 

• The application fees for General Category and OBC is INR 200. Whereas the fees for female candidates and reserved categories like SC/ST/PH has been exempted.

• Fill in the Part-II form before clicking on the submit button.

• Submit your application form and keep a copy of it for future references.

Note: On successful completion of your complete application, an auto-generated email will be sent to you on your registered email-ID. In case you do not receive the email, please check that submission of the second part of the application has been done properly by you.
