UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2024 - Age Limit and Educational Qualifications

The latest eligibility criteria to apply for the upcoming UPSC Engineering Services Exam for the year 2024 have been discussed below - 

  • Candidates must have an Engineering Degree acquired from a recognised college or university.

  • Candidates with M.Sc degree in Electronics, Wireless Communication and Radio Physics can apply for selected posts in IES (Indian Engineering Services).

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who has come to India before 1 st January 1962.

  • It is important for candidates to know that the certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India is a must for Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan and other migrated candidates.

  • The age limit of the candidates must not be less than 22 years and more than 30 years.

Age Relaxation - UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria 2024

Although the minimum age of the applicants applying for the UPSC ESE 2024 exam should not be less than 22 years and the maximum age not more than 35 years, candidates belonging to certain categories are given relaxation in the upper age limit evident from the table provided below -
