AEEE 2019 Exam Pattern

AEEE is a national level examination which takes place every year for the aspirants of undergraduate engineering courses. Amrita University has released the AEEE 2019 Exam Pattern for the aspirants appearing in the examination. The examination will be organised separately for CBT(short for Computer Based Test) and P&P (short for Pen and Paper Test) modes. The Computer Based Test will be held from April 22 – 26 whereas the Pen and Paper Test will be held on April 27, 2019.

The exam pattern will help candidates to understand the structure of the question paper highlighting the number of questions, the total number of questions, marks per section, total marks, mode of examination, the time duration of the examination, marking scheme, etc. Through the AEEE 2019 exam pattern, candidates get a fair idea about the overall format of the exam structure and as well as AEEE  2019 Syllabus.

Applicants who have qualified the JEE Main 2019 can also apply for the admission and they will be exempted from appearing in AEEE 2019 examination. These applicants can be able to get admission through the valid JEE Main score. In order to help applicants to understand the pattern and structure of the paper, we have explained the details of the exam pattern of AEEE 2019.

Highlights of AEEE 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Amrita University conducts AEEE in computer based mode as well as the pen and paper mode.

  • The medium of language for conducting the exam is English.

  • Multiple types of questions (MCQs) are asked in the entrance exam.

  • The total duration of the exam is 2 hour 30 minutes.

  • The total number of questions in the exam is 100 i.e Physics – 30, Chemistry – 30, Mathematics – 40).

  • The total marks of the exam are 300 i.e Physics – 90, Chemistry – 90, Mathematics – 120.

  • 3 marks will be awarded for every correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

  • No marks will be awarded or deducted for unattempted or unanswered questions.

Detailed Exam Pattern of AEEE 2019

Exam Mode:

  • Online (Computer-based) mode – For online mode, applicants will have to mark their responses on the computer.

  • Offline (Paper-based) mode – For offline mode, applicants will have to mark their answers in the printed OMR answer sheets.

Exam Duration:

  • The total duration for both online and offline mode is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • Applicants must reach their respective exam centres on time.

  • No student will be allowed to leave the exam hall before the end of the exam.

​​Question Type:

  • In AEEE 2019, the question paper will be in objective type format (multiple choice questions). Each question will have four options out of which applicants will have to choose one most appropriate answer.

The question paper consists of three subjects:

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Mathematics

Marking Scheme:

  • Applicants will be awarded 3 marks, for every correct response.

  • 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.

  • If applicants give more than one response to a particular question, it will be treated as ‘incorrect answer’ and 1 mark will be deducted.

  • If no response is indicated for a particular question, no mark will be awarded or deducted.

FAQs on AEEE Exam Pattern

1. Which languages in the AEEE available in?

The entrance exam was conducted only in the English Language.

2. Is there a pass mark for each subject in AEEE or the overall marks are considered for each paper?

To qualify, you have to secure the minimum qualifying marks in each subject. For the AEEE result, the aggregate will be considered.

3. Will there be a calculator in AEEE online exam?

No, there is no provision of a calculator and you cannot carry one to the examination room too.

4. Will there be extra questions in AEEE? How to attempt those questions? Will I be given extra marks if I answer them?

No, there will be no extra questions in AEEE examination.

5. Can I edit my answers in the exam?

For the online exam, answers can be reviewed and edited. For the offline exam, it is not possible to edit or rectify the answers.
