The Directorate of Technical Education, Goa is responsible for organising the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) counselling process 2021 for the candidates. GCET 2021 counselling process will be held in two rounds, and it will be compulsory for all the candidates to participate in all the counselling process for securing admission. It must be noted by the candidates that the counselling of GCET will be conducted in offline mode. As a part of the GCET 2020 counselling process, all the test-takers will have to fill and submit the counselling form in person at the DTE Goa office.
The Directorate of Technical Education Goa will be responsible for GCET 2021 Counselling. The seat allotment of GCET 2021 will depend on various factors such as merit rank of the candidates, availability of seats and order of seat preference. During the counselling process of GCET 2021, candidates appearing for the counselling will be allowed to give the preferences of colleges subject to seat availability. Based on the merit rank and preferences of seats, the candidates will be allotted seats in the first round of Goa CET counselling. If the seats are left vacant, then it will be filled in by the subsequent rounds of counselling. It must be noted by the candidates that they will have to get their documents verified while reporting for the GCET 2020 counselling. If the candidates fail to participate in person for the counselling of GCET 2021 or withdraw from the admission offered to them, then in such case, candidates will lose their claim of the seat.

For the GCET counselling process, following are the steps that will be taken into consideration:
Step 1- GCET 2021 Counselling Form Filling:
To participate in the GCET 2021 counselling process, the first and foremost step that the candidates have to follow is to fill the counselling form by entering the necessary details. Some of the details that are mentioned in the GCET 2020 counselling form is registration number of the candidate, name of the candidate, gender, category and marks scored in the entrance examination.
Step 2- GCET 2021 Counselling Form Submission:
After filling the GCET 2021 counselling form, the candidates will have to submit the completely filled form within the stipulated time frame. While submitting the form, candidates must ensure that they have filled all the details mentioned in the form correctly. The counselling form has to be submitted in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa and other notified locations. As a proof of receipt of the counselling form, an acknowledgement card will be issued to the candidates which must be kept safely for the future purpose.
Step 3- Seat Allotment Process of GCET Counselling:
The seat allotment process of GCET counselling will be done on the basis of various factors. Some of the factors on which the counselling of GCET depends are the availability of seats, merit rank of the candidate, order of seat preference etc. For the seat allotment process, candidates will have to get their all their documents verified. In case they fail to submit any document at the time of GCET 2021 counselling, then it might lead to the cancellation of their candidature.
Step 4- In-Person Reporting at the Allotted Institute-
After the allotment of seat, candidates will have to report at the allotted institute along with the seat allotment letter. All the candidates whose names are listed in the GCET merit list will have to appear for the counselling in person on the prescribed date and time at the alotted centre. While reporting at the institute, candidates must carry their acknowledgement card, documents in original and fees along with them while reporting for the in personal counselling of GCET.
The following requisite documents must be attached with the form while submitting it to the admission in charge.
3 recent passport size photographs
Mark sheet of Class XII or equivalent
Birth Certificate from the competent authority
Leaving/Transfer certificate from the school last attended, duly signed by the principal
Non-Migrant Caste certificate (For SC/ST category)
Non-Creamy and Non-Migrant Caste certificate (For OBC category)
Children of Goa State/ Central Government Employees must submit the service certificate of their parents

What does the counselling process comprise of?
The counselling for GCET will be conducted in the month of June 2020. To participate in the counselling, candidates need to first fill and submit the form. Counselling for GCET will be conducted purely on the basis of the merit list prepared by the DTE.
How is seat allocation done?
The seat allocation is done as per the candidate's order or rank in the merit list. Category of the candidate is also considered as one of the key aspects for the seat allocation.

The counselling fee is the payment made by a candidate to show his/her seriousness/commitment in taking admission in the desired course. Counselling fee is not a separate fee; it is the adjustable advance paid that subsequently gets adjusted at the time of admission from the fee payable to the respective University by a candidate.
