The Directorate of Technical Education, Goa will organise the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) Counselling Process 2018 from 18th June. GCET Counselling will be held in two rounds and it will be compulsory for candidates to participate in all the rounds.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa prepares the Merit List of Goa CET, for the candidates who will qualify in the entrance examination.
The provisional merit list is expected to be available on the DTE’s official website along with the schedule of counselling of Goa CET 2018 on June 13 while the final merit list is expected to be released on June 15.
Only the candidates who will fill the application form at the reporting center will be allowed admission in Engineering, Pharmacy and Sciences courses.
All the candidates must report to the admission center of Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, in person along with the relevant documents, acknowledgement slip and tuition fees.
If candidates fail to submit any document at the time of GCET counselling, then it might lead to the cancellation of the candidature.
During the counselling process, those who are present at the time of counselling will be allowed to give the preferences of seats as per their choice from the seats available at that point.
On the basis of merit rank and preferences of seats, the candidates will be allotted seats in the first round of Goa CET Counselling.
If the candidates fail to participate in person for the counselling of GCET 2018 or withdraw from the admission offered to them, then in such case the candidates will lose their claim of the seat.
The seats will then be offered to the next candidate in the merit list.
If the candidate reaches late to the admission centre, he/she will be allotted the seat available at that particular point of time. No changes in the admitted list will be done.
After every round of Goa CET counselling, the list of provisional admitted candidates will be displayed on the official website, which will also indicate the name of the institution, branch, category and marks.
If the seats are left vacant, then it will be filled in by the subsequent rounds of counselling.
In each round, the unclaimed and vacant seats are transferred to the general category candidates.
The following requisite documents must be attached with the form while submitting it to the admission in charge.
3 recent passport size photographs
Mark sheet of Class XII or equivalent
Birth Certificate from the competent authority
Leaving/Transfer certificate from the school last attended, duly signed by the principal
Non-Migrant Caste certificate (For SC/ST category)
Non-Creamy and Non-Migrant Caste certificate (For OBC category)
Children of Goa State/ Central Government Employees must submit the service certificate of their parents

1. What do you mean by counselling fee?
The counselling fee is the payment made by a candidate to show his/her seriousness/commitment in taking admission in the desired course. Counselling fee is not a separate fee; it is the adjustable advance paid that subsequently gets adjusted at the time of admission from the fee payable to the respective University by a candidate.
2. How is seat allocation done?
The first indicative seat allocation list may comprise of some additional seats over and above the total available seats among the participating institutions.
3. What does the counselling process comprise of?
The counselling for GCET will be conducted in the beginning of June 2018 until July 2018 by DTE. To participate in the counselling, candidates need to first fill and submit the form. Counselling for GCET will be conducted purely on the basis of the merit list prepared by the DTE.
