IRMA 2020 Selection Process

The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) follows a three-step process for selecting candidates for the Post Graduate Programme in Rural Management (PGDRM). IRMA 2020 Selection Process basically consists of the following.

  • Candidates must first apply for the CAT 2019/ XAT 2020 exam. On the basis of their scores in these exams, candidates will be shortlisted for IRMASAT 2020. This test is organised on the subject of ‘Issues of Social Concern’.
  • IRMA 2020 exam is the second stage in the IRMA selection procedure 2020 and is likely to be held in the second week of February 2020
  • The third stage of the selection procedure of IRMA 2020 comprises Group Activity (GA) and Personal Interview (PI).

Detailed Selection Process of IRMA


Phase 1

Candidates are evaluated on the basis of CAT / XAT scores and IRMASAT Exam scores (Foreign Nationals are shortlisted on the basis of their GMAT / GRE Scores).

Candidates who qualify the Phase 1 will be called for Group Activity and Personal Interview. Final selection is done on the basis of collective performance in both the phases.


Candidates have to clear the minimum cut-off set by the institute. Candidates in phase 1 are selected based on their score in CAT / XAT and the strength of their application.

In the second phase, the candidates are selected on the basis of their score in IRMASAT Exam, Essay (Quality and Presentation) and Personal Interview.
