JEST 2020 Selection Process

In order to get admission into PhD/ Integrated PhD course in Physics or Neuroscience or Theoretical Computer Science or Computational Biology which are offered by JEST participating institutes, candidates will be required to qualify the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) which is a common qualifying examination. The examination is conducted to shortlist candidates to take admission into PhD courses. Candidates who will take the entrance exam should note that there each participating institute of JEST has a different selection process/ criteria. On the basis of the result of JEST 2020, each participating institute will call the candidates who have been shortlisted for its own selection process depending on its requirements.

JEST 2020 Participating Colleges

JEST 2020 participating colleges are the colleges that will provide admission to the candidates based on 2020 JEST marks/ranks. Through Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), aspirants who wish to study PhD/ Integrated PhD course in Physics or Neuroscience or Theoretical Computer Science or Computational Biology course may take admission into any one of the participating institutes which accept JEST score. JEST 2020 will be held on 16th February 2020 and the result of JEST 2020 is expected to be declared in the last week of March 2020 after the entrance exam has been successfully conducted.

In order to become eligible for admission in any of the participating colleges, candidates will be required to qualify the JEST 2020 examination. JEST 2020will be conducted in offline mode in different exam centres across India. Candidates must note that there are various participating institutes that accept JEST scores and on the basis of candidates’ result and cut-off, admissions into the JEST participating colleges will be given to the qualified candidates.

  • Candidates must get their detailed information such as eligibility norms, year of establishment, the number of batches passed and other relevant facilities that are offered to students before selecting the participating institutes/colleges of JEST 2020.

  • Candidates should prefer to take admission into a college/ institute with good career opportunities and a better placement cell.

  • It is important for candidates to know the cut-off marks and the final selection process of the institution where they wish to take admission.

  • For admission in the college/institute, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained by them.

  • Candidates who will not attend the final admission procedure of the college will automatically lose their candidature.
