KMAT Kerala 2020 Exam Pattern

KMAT Kerala 2020 exam pattern mentions all the details related to the overall format of the entrance examination. As per the exam pattern of KMAT Kerala 2019, the exam will be conducted in offline mode across various exam centres. The question paper of KMAT Kerala will contain 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The candidates will have to choose the correct answer among the four options given for each question in the question paper of KMAT Kerala 2020.

Candidates aspiring for KMAT Kerala will be assessed in varied topics such as English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge and Contemporary Scenario. Candidates appearing for KMAT Kerala 2020 will have 150 minutes to answer all the questions. KMAT Kerala is conducted in the English language. According to the marking scheme of KMAT Kerala 2020, four marks are allocated to each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer attempted by the candidates.

Medium of KMAT Kerala 2020:

  • The question paper medium of KMAT Kerala 2020 is English, wherein each question in the exam will be asked in the English language.

  • All the candidates will have to provide the answers in the English language.

Mode of KMAT Kerala 2020:

  • KMAT Kerala 2020 is held in offline (pen-paper based mode).

  • The questions will be objective in nature.

  • Each candidate will be provided with a sealed OMR sheet and a question paper to answer the questions in the examination.

Duration of KMAT Kerala 2020:

  • To solve all the questions in the exam, candidates will be provided 2 hours 30 minutes.

  • Candidates must note that there is no restriction regarding attempting a particular section within a given time frame.

Total Number of Sections in KMAT Kerala 2020:

In the entrance examination, candidates will be required to attempt four sections namely English Language and Reading Comprehension, Data Sufficiency & Logical Reasoning, and General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude & Contemporary Business Scenario.

Section A- English Language and Reading Comprehension

Here, in this section, the knowledge and proficiency in the English language will be judged. Candidates will be asked to answer questions of the unseen passages. Mostly the questions asked are direct, and the difficulty level of this section is easy to moderate.

Section B: Quantitative Aptitude

In this section, candidates basic mathematical ability will be tested. The level of difficulty for this section is moderate to high most of the times. Quantitative Aptitude is regarded as one of the major scoring sections of KMAT exam. The questions in the Quantitative Aptitude section of KMAT exam might be either in the form of sets or individual ones. 

Section C: Data Sufficiency & Logical Reasoning

In this section, questions related to reasoning and logical thinking will be asked. Various questions regarding numbers, numerical calculations and arithmetic problems involving percentage, interest, ratio & proportion, time and speed, etc will be tested. Also, in this section, questions can be asked from Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Interpretation of tables, graphs, charts, etc.

Section D: General Knowledge & Contemporary Business Scenario

To prepare for the General Knowledge & Contemporary Business Scenario section, there is no exact syllabus. However, this section will test candidates’ GK from past and present. For this section, candidates must be well aware of the current scenario at state, national and international level and should read newspapers, magazines, watch TV and listen to the news to know the happenings around the globe.
