Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is one of the most popular management entrance exams, which is conducted by XLRI for admission to over 150 B-schools in the country. Every year, around 90,000 candidates take the exam. Candidates can apply for appearance in the XAT 2022 entrance by visiting the official website of this national level examination. To end all confusion in the minds of the applicants, we have provided the steps in a sequential manner.
To start with the XAT 2022 application process, candidates are required to visit the official website of XAT. It is on the homepage of the entrance where the applicants will find two options - “New Candidate’s Registration” and “Registered Candidate’s Login”.
This can be considered to be one of the most vital steps of the application process. The candidates are required to register themselves by clicking on the button provided for registration on the homepage of the official website. In case, the candidates have already registered for the exam they are required to log in by using certain credentials i.e User ID and password.
Once the candidates click on the “New Candidate’s Registration” option, a page displaying the browser preference will get displayed on the screen. After reading the information thoroughly candidates should click on the “Close” button. Nextly, they will have to enter certain other information such as the name of the entrance through which they want to apply, date of birth, candidate’s name, email address, mobile number, country etc. After filling the details candidates will have to enter the captcha and click on the “submit” option.
When the candidates are done with the registration process they will receive an SMS on their mobile numbers stating the Used ID and password. Applicants can then log in using such details and proceed with the further steps of the application process.
Once the candidate's login using their respective user ID and password, a page opens up asking to fill in certain personal details. These details include the name of the candidate, application sequence, gender, contact details, email address, address details etc. There is also the requirement to upload scanned copies of certain documents such as passport-sized photograph and signature.
It is to be noted that the candidates are needed to be very careful while filling in the asked for information. When done with the process they should click on the “Save and Continue” button.
The next step for the candidates is to fill in the academic details. These details include marks scored by them at the secondary level, intermediate level, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, other professional degree details etc. Then the candidates should click on the “Save and Continue” option.
In this step, candidates will have to enter their work experience details (if any). It is to be noted that candidates can only enter the work experience till the stipulated deadline. Only full-time work experience after the completion of graduation will be considered. If the candidates have no work experience they should just click on the “no” option and submit it by selecting the “Save and Continue” option.
Candidates will also get the scope to choose the preferred course which they want to pursue at the XLRI campuses. The option for course selection includes - Business Management(BM), Human Resource Management (HRM), General Management Programme(GMP), Fellow Programme in Management(FPM). Candidates will also get a scope to select the campus of their preference.
Candidates are also provided with the scope of selecting two test cities according to their preference. The examination authority allots the candidates with test centres after the last date of online form submission. The allotments are done solely on the basis of preferences entered by the candidates.
Once done with this step, candidates are needed to click on the “Save and Continue” option.
This is the last and perhaps the most important step of the application process. The application forms will not be considered to be submitted successfully unless the fee is paid by the candidates. They will be provided will two payment modes from which candidates can choose anyone. The options are - PayU and BillDesk.
After selecting the mode of payment, applicants are required to go through the declaration very minutely and click on the “I Agree” option. Candidates should then click on the submit option to proceed further. They can also choose the “preview” option to view the entire application form on the screen.
Note: Candidates will also have to pay extra money for choosing each XLRI programme.

The candidates will be allowed to change their XAT 2022 test city preference in case they find that the chosen test city preference for XAT 2022 does not suit them. Candidates can only change their XAT test city preference for the year 2022 one time. In order to change their test city preference, the candidates have to contact email@example.com through a written application which must also include the candidates’ Date of Birth, XAT Id, chosen test city, Father’s Name and the name of the new test city preference. However, the final decision regarding the change of test city preference for XAT 2022 shall remain with XLRI.
After the XAT 2022 registration process concludes, the official website will upload the XAT 2022 admit card to be downloaded by the candidates. The admit card for XAT 2022 will be available for download from December 20, 2021 onwards. The candidates will just have to log in to the official website with their XAT 2022 ID and Password after which they can download their XAT admit card for the year 2022. Like every year, around 100,000 management aspirants are expected to appear in the XAT 2022 entrance examination to try and secure a seat in one of the top 150 B-Schools across the nation. The XAT 2022 scores will be accepted by XLRI Jamshedpur and around 150 top B-Schools in India but if the candidates wish to secure a seat in one of the XAT 2022 participating colleges except for XLRI Jamshedpur, then they will be required to visit the official website of that particular Institute and apply separately.
