XAT 2023 Application Form (Closes on November 30)

The last date to submit an application for the XAT 2023 exam is November 30, 2022 (till midnight). The XAT 2023 application form was released on August 10, 2022. XAT 2023 exam will be held on January 8, 2023. Applicants must go through the XAT 2023 eligibility criteria before filling out the online application form for XAT 2023. The XAT Application Process 2023 involves three steps - Registration for XAT, filling out the XAT application form, and fee payment.

On December 20, 2022, the XAT 2023 admit card will be released and available for download. The XAT 2023 admit card can only be downloaded by registered applicants. The XAT 2023 admission card can be downloaded up until January 8, 2023. Results for the XAT 2023 exam will be announced on January 31, 2023.

Candidates can apply for an appearance in the XAT 2023 entrance by visiting the official website of this national-level examination. To end all confusion in the minds of the applicants, we have provided the steps in a sequential manner.

Visit the Official Website 

To start with the XAT 2023 application process, candidates are required to visit the official website of XAT. It is on the homepage of the entrance where the applicants will find two options - “Register” and “Login”. 


This can be considered to be one of the most vital steps of the application process. The candidates are required to register themselves by clicking on the button provided for registration on the homepage of the official website. In case, the candidates have already registered for the exam they are required to log in by using certain credentials i.e User ID and password.

Once the candidates click on the  “New Candidate’s Registration” option, a page displaying the browser preference will get displayed on the screen. After reading the information thoroughly candidates should click on the “Close” button. Nextly, they will have to enter certain other information such as the name of the entrance through which they want to apply, date of birth, candidate’s name, email address, mobile number, country, etc. After filling in the details candidates will have to enter the captcha and click on the “submit” option. 

When the candidates are done with the registration process they will receive an SMS on their mobile numbers stating the Used ID and password. Applicants can then log in using such details and proceed with the further steps of the application process.

Filling in Personal Details

Once the candidates log in using their respective user ID and password, a page opens up asking them to fill in certain personal details. These details include the name of the candidate, application sequence, gender, contact details, email address, address details, etc. There is also the requirement to upload scanned copies of certain documents such as passport-sized photographs and signatures. 

It is to be noted that the candidates are needed to be very careful while filling in the required information. When done with the process they should click on the “Save and Continue” button.

Filling in Academic Details

The next step for the candidates is to fill in the academic details. These details include marks scored by them at the secondary level, intermediate level, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, other professional degree details, etc. Then the candidates should click on the “Save and Continue” option.

Filling in Work Experience Details

In this step, candidates will have to enter their work experience details (if any). It is to be noted that candidates can only enter the work experience till the stipulated deadline. Only full-time work experience after the completion of graduation will be considered. If the candidates have no work experience they should just click on the “no” option and submit it by selecting the “Save and Continue” option.

Filling in Programme Preference

Candidates will also get the scope to choose the preferred course that they want to pursue at the XLRI campuses. The option for course selection includes -  Business Management(BM), Human Resource Management (HRM), General Management Programme(GMP), Fellow Programme in Management(FPM). Candidates will also get a scope to select the campus of their preference. 

Candidates are also provided with the scope of selecting two test cities according to their preferences. The examination authority allots the candidates with test centers after the last date of online form submission. The allotments are done solely on the basis of preferences entered by the candidates. 

Once done with this step, candidates need to click on the “Save and Continue” option.

Payment of Fees

This is the last and perhaps the most important step of the application process. The application forms will not be considered to be submitted successfully unless the fee is paid by the candidates. They will be provided will two payment modes from which candidates can choose anyone. The options are - PayU and BillDesk. 

After selecting the mode of payment, applicants are required to go through the declaration very minutely and click on the “I Agree” option. Candidates should then click on the submit option to proceed further. They can also choose the “preview” option to view the entire application form on the screen. 

Note: Candidates will also have to pay extra money for choosing each XLRI programme.

  • Online Payment Gateway: The application fees of XAT 2023 can be paid through VISA/ Credit, MasterCard or Debit cards. Candidates can also pay through Net banking if they possess an account in IDBI bank. Also, note that American Express Cards are not accepted.
  • Cash Payment: The application fee of XAT 2023 can also be paid through the nearest branch of IDBI bank by taking a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip.
  • Demand Draft: You can send a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of ‘XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT’ payable at Jamshedpur at the following address.

XAT scores are accepted by more than 100 B-schools for admissions to MBA and PGDM programmes. Exams will be held across 50 cities in the country as well as in Kathmandu and Dubai.

How Can I Change XAT 2023 Test City Preference?

The candidates will be allowed to change their XAT 2023 test city preference in case they find that the chosen test city preference for XAT 2023 does not suit them. Candidates can only change their XAT test city preference for the year 2023 one time. To change their test city preference, the candidates have to contact through a written application which must also include the candidates’ Date of Birth, XAT Id, chosen test city, Father’s Name, and the name of the new test city preference. However, the final decision regarding the change of test city preference for XAT 2023 shall remain with XLRI.

What After XAT 2023 Registration?

After the XAT 2023 registration process concludes, the official website will upload the XAT 2023 admit card to be downloaded by the candidates. The admit card for XAT 2023 will be available for download from December 20, 2022. The candidates will just have to log in to the official website with their XAT 2023 ID and Password after which they can download their XAT admit card for the year 2023. Like every year, around 100,000 management aspirants are expected to appear in the XAT 2023 entrance examination to try and secure a seat in one of the top 150 B-Schools across the nation. The XAT 2023 scores will be accepted by XLRI Jamshedpur and around 150 top B-Schools in India but if the candidates wish to secure a seat in one of the XAT 2023 participating colleges except for XLRI Jamshedpur, then they will be required to visit the official website of that particular Institute and apply separately.

Important Instructions of XAT 2023

  • Registering and appearing for XAT 2023 is the first step towards applying to XLRI and XAT Associate Institutes.
  • Those of you who are applying to different institutes, besides XLRI, have to apply separately to institutes of your choice.
  • For taking XAT 2023, you can choose to pay the application fee using a credit card/ debit card/ online banking.
  • You can also make the payment through a demand draft made by any bank (in favor of XLRI Jamshedpur).
  • You can also make the payment in cash through any of the IDBI Bank branches located in India.
  • Once you've filled in the basic information, you will receive an email with a provisional XAT ID and password.
  • For all future communication, you will be required to quote your email (provided during the registration) and XAT ID.
  • You must ensure that the E-mail address provided by you is valid and personal.
  • Please check your emails regularly and ensure that exam-related emails aren't going to your spam/junk folder.
  • Please note that the XAT ID and password give you an individual login on and at frequent intervals, you need to check for E-mail from XAT & other associated institutes.

XAT 2023 Application Form Correction

Candidates must be very careful while filling out the XAT 2023 application form. There is no direct method of form correction in XAT 2023. XLRI does not allow any changes in the application form unless they are very crucial. Candidates are required to raise a query from their dashboard for making changes to their XAT application form.
