Registrations for CAT 2020 closed on September 23, 2020, at 5:00 PM. The CAT 2020 Application Form Correction Window will open on September 27 at 10:00 AM. Candidates will be able to edit their Photograph, Signature and Test City Preference till the CAT form correction window closes on September 29 at 5 PM.
CAT 2020 registration began on August 5, 2020, and the last date to apply for CAT 2020 was extended till September 23, 2020. The announcement was made by the CAT Convener in a Media Release on the official website of CAT. The Media Release also specifies that no further extensions in registration dates will be provided.

Step 1: Register to Receive User ID and Password
In order to fill the CAT 2020 application form in online mode, candidates need to visit the official website of CAT 2020 and click on the 'Register' tab under ‘New Candidate Registration’. The registration will open where candidates will have to provide their details such as Name, Birth Date Email Address, Mobile Number, and Country. Once all the details are entered, candidates' CAT registration will be verified and authenticated through an OTP. On successful registration, candidates will receive their CAT 2020 Registration ID and Password through Email and SMS. Those who have already registered for the exam just need to click on the 'Login' tab under 'Registered Candidate Login' to go to the next step, which is filling the CAT 2020 application form.
Step 2: Login to CAT website with system generated User ID & Password
The next step in the CAT application form filling is to log in to the official website using the system generated User ID & Password. Using these credentials, you can log in to fill out the Application form. You need not complete the application in a single session. You can log in multiple times to complete. In cases where a candidate forgets his/her password, he/she can get a new password by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password’ tab given on the ‘Existing User’ login window. Candidates will receive the new password on their registered email IDs.
Step 3: Fill and Submit the CAT Application
Once a user has logged in, his/her personal details will appear on the screen. To start the process of filling the online application form, candidates will be required to click on 'Go to Application Form'. In the application form, candidates will have to provide Personal Details (such as Gender, Nationality, Category, Communication Address, etc.), Academics Details (such as Scores of Class X Exam, Class XII Exam, Bachelor’s Degree Details, Master’s Degree Details and Other Professional Course Details), Work Experience Details (if applicable, it will include industry type, number of months, etc.), Programmes (this is where candidates have to mention the IIMs where they wish to study and courses they wish to pursue), Test City (candidates will be allowed to choose any four test location as per their preference), and make the Payment of Application of Fee (BillDesk, PayU or Paytm). Candidates must upload the necessary documents (as mentioned above) in support of the details provided in the application form.
Step 4: Payment of CAT Application Fee
After the CAT application payment is done, the application for CAT 2020 will be considered complete and candidates will receive a confirmation mail on their registered email IDs. Candidates will be able to log in to the CAT website as a Registered user whenever they want in order to check the application summary.
Editing any detail on the CAT application form after the online payment will not be possible. However, there will be a limited time window during which candidates will be allowed to modify very limited details like Percentage of Marks scored, Work Experience, Programmes Selected etc. Any modification in the personal details section or academics section, except the percentage marks, scored and exam centre city preferences, will not be allowed.
