How to Apply for GCET 2018

The notification for GCET 2018 has been released on the official website of Directorate of Technical Education. The application forms are expected to be available from the first week of April, 2018 on DTE’s website. Once released, candidates may fill the form by downloading the form and taking a print out. The submission of the application form should be in the first week of April, 2018. 

Steps to Fill GCET 2018 Application Form: 

  • Go to the official website of 'Director of Technical Education'. 

  • Go to the Admission Advertisement section of the website.

  • Download the application form GCET (Form A).

  • Take a printout of the form on a good quality A4 size paper.

  • Then, fill the application form with all the necessary details such as:

    • Personal Details

    • Educational Details

    • Exam Details

  • Paste your recent passport size photograph in the required pixel.

  • Sign in the box provided in the application form.  Remember to sign in small letters and not in capital letters.

  • Once the form is filled, send it on the address mentioned in the form.

  • Before sending the form, get a Demand Draft of INR 1,800, drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, at Scheduled Bank mentioned by the authority.

  • The application form, the demand draft and three identical photographs, along with  specified certificates (self attested photo copies), should be sent to the address given in the form.

  • Admit cards are issued on the official website of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). Candidates must ensure that the Demand Draft’s validity should be at least for 3 months from the date of issue.

Note:

  • Candidates should keep in mind that incomplete application forms are not accepted.

  • There is no provision for sending the GCET application form by post or through messenger.

  • GCET application forms are not accepted after the last date of submission.

1. What documents should I retain after completion of successful submission of my application form?

It is important for candidates to retain documents like:

  • Hard copy of the filled-in form

  • Fee receipt detail

  • Auto generated ID and Password

2. When will I get my Admit Card?

The admit card will be available on the official website of GCET from the first week of May, 2018. The applicant is required to take print out of the admit card from the Directorate of Technical Education’s (DTE) website. However, he/she is required to bring a passport-size photograph (similar to that pasted on the application form) along with the admit card to the entrance-test center for verification. 

3. What are the enclosures to be sent with the filled application form?

The enclosures to be sent with the duly filled application form are:
Demand Draft, of INR 1,800 drawn from Scheduled bank, in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, as registration fee along with the photocopy of:

  • 10th/Equivalent Mark sheet

  • Mark sheet of Higher Secondary or qualifying examination

  • Conduct/Character Certificate

  • Transfer Certificate

The duly filled in application form may be sent to: 
Chairman, Admission Committee
Directorate of Technical Education
Alto-Porvorim, Bardez, Goa. 403 521.

4. If one does not get Admit Card, whom should he/she contact?

Admit cards are not sent to candidates. These are uploaded on the official website of the exam conducting authority. Candidates need to download the Admit Card from the website only.
