IGNOU OPENMAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must go through IGNOU OPENMAT 2022 eligibility criteria before applying for admission to the management programmes at IGNOU. Candidates have to fulfill the criteria given below to get admission at IGNOU. Without meeting the eligibility criteria, no candidates will be able to get admission to the programme.

Candidates can apply for either of the sessions depending upon when they want to take admission in the programme. The application form for IGNOU MBA admissions 2022 is available until 22nd September, 2022. Listed below are the eligibility criteria for OPENMAT 2022.

Note: IGNOU OPENMAT for July 2022 session has been scrapped and candidates need to apply directly for the post graduate management programs offered by IGNOU.

IGNOU OPENMAT 2022 Eligibility Norms

Check the eligibility criteria of IGNOU OPENMAT provided below. 

For Indian Candidates:

• Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline including Company Secretaryship/Chartered Accountancy/Cost Accountancy/ with 50% in aggregate for General category candidates and 45% aggregate for Reserved category(SC/ST/PwD) candidates as per Government of India rules.

• If the candidates have a valid CAT or MAT score, then it is not necessary for them to appear for the IGNOU OPENMAT 2022.

• Candidates can apply for the management exam on the basis of CAT or MAT scores.

Important Points 

• Bachelor’s degree should be of minimum of 3 years duration.

• The university has the right to accept/deny admission of any candidate.

• Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria conditions mentioned in this post are not eligible to get admission into the mentioned programme.

For Foreign Nationals:

• Foreign candidates living in India must have a valid student visa for the minimum period of the programme to become eligible for admission.

• Candidates will be required to remit the fees as per IGNOU's fee requirements for foreign students.

• Candidates will also be required to get clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs / Ministry of Human Resource Development. Their admission procedure will be conducted by the International Division of the University.

Nationality:

• Not only Indian candidates, but even foreign candidates are eligible to appear for the exam. 

IGNOU OPENMAT Age Limit

• There is no age limit set by the IGNOU authorities to take the examination. Candidates from any age group may appear for the examination. 

Why is it Important to Check Eligibility Criteria before Applying

It is important to check the eligibility criteria due to the following

• Firstly, the candidates in the final year of graduation or those who have completed their graduation can fill IGNOU OPENMAT form. Hence, the candidates who want to appear for the exam in 2022 need to meet the eligibility criteria of the exam or else their application form will not be accepted.

• There is no age limit.

• Women candidates belonging to the reserved category will also need some kind of relaxation.
