The IPMAT 2025 selection process consists of five steps, as stated below. It should be noted that the final results will be based on an aptitude exam and a personal interview.
Phase 1: Registration
- Interested candidates need to register and apply for the exam by filling in the online application form available on the official website.
- Keep the required documents ready while filling out the form, as you have to upload the scanned copies in the specified format.
- The application fee is INR 4130 for the general category and INR 2605 for the SC/ST/PwD category.
Phase 2: IPMAT 2025 Exam
After the successful completion of the application process, candidates need to appear for the IPMAT 2025 exam, which is a computer-based test.
- There will be three sections in the Aptitude Test namely Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).
- Each question will carry 4 marks.
- There will be a negative marking of 1 negative mark for each wrong answer except Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (these questions will not carry any negative marking).
The updated structure of the IPMAT 2025 is shown in the table below:
Section | Time duration for the section |
---|
QA (MCQ) | 40 Minutes |
QA (SA) | 40 Minutes |
VA (MCQ) | 40 Minutes |
Phase 3: Personal Interview
At this point, only applicants with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three components of the Aptitude Test are considered for Stage 4, i.e. Personal Interview (PI). The Admissions Committee will determine the minimum cut off point in each area. The minimal cut off point in each part will be determined by the applicant categories. Rejected candidates will not receive personalized regret letters at this point.
Phase 4: Merit List Generation
A sufficient number of applicants from each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) would be selected for Personal Interview (PI) using the merit list developed based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS). Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a Personal Interview (PI) by the Institute. IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimal performance in the various elements of the Personal Interview, which will be determined by the Admissions Committee. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements in any of the metrics will not be considered for the next step of the selection process.
Phase 5: Final Merit List
- Only applicants who meet the conditions outlined in previous rounds will be considered for the final round of selection.
- Based on the Composite Score (CS) as shown in the table below, a category-wise merit list will be prepared.
- Provisional admission offers will be given in accordance with the Government of India reservation criteria.
