IIM Indore conducts the IPMAT exam each year for admission to their Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). Those who want to apply for the IPMAT 2023, they should be familiar with the processes involved in the selection process. Find more about the IPMAT selection process 2023 below.
The IPMAT 2023 selection process consists of five steps, as stated below. It should be noted that the final results will be based on an aptitude exam and a personal interview.
After the successful completion of the application process, candidates need to appear for the IPMAT 2023 exam, which is a computer-based test.
The updated structure of the IPMAT 2023 is shown in the table below:
Section | Time duration for the section |
QA (MCQ) | 40 Minutes |
QA (SA) | 40 Minutes |
VA (MCQ) | 40 Minutes |
At this point, only applicants with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three components of the Aptitude Test are considered for Stage 4, i.e. Personal Interview (PI). The Admissions Committee will determine the minimum cut off point in each area. The minimal cut off point in each part will be determined by the applicant categories. Rejected candidates will not receive personalized regret letters at this point.
A sufficient number of applicants from each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) would be selected for Personal Interview (PI) using the merit list developed based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS) as shown in the table below.
The scores are calculated based on the below parameters:
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a Personal Interview (PI) by the Institute. IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimal performance in the various elements of the Personal Interview, which will be determined by the Admissions Committee. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements in any of the metrics will not be considered for the next step of the selection process.
Computation of Composite Score (CS)
Component | Score (Weight) |
SAT Test Score * | 65 |
Personal Interview (PI) | 35 |
Composite Score (CS) | Sum of above scores |
Candidates who will not be selected for the final offer will not receive any intimation from the authority.
Those applying for IPMAT 2023 as an international student, you will be chosen based on your performance on the SAT and the Personal Interview (PI). If you do not appear in the SAT and PI, you will not be considered for the final selection process.
Only applicants who meet the conditions outlined in previous rounds will be considered for the final round of selection. The merit list will be prepared based on the Composite Score (CS) as shown in the table below, and provisional admission offers will be issued in accordance with the authorized selection criteria for international candidates.
Calculation of Composite Score (CS):
Component | Score (Weight) |
SAT Test Score* | 65 |
Video-Based Assessment | 35 |
Composite Score | Sum of the above |
The following formula will be used to determine the SAT Test Score:
*SAT Test Score = Candidates' Overall SAT Test Score / Maximum Possible SAT Test Score
