NIFT Entrance Exam 2021 Syllabus

The NIFT 2021 entrance exam syllabus is released by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The NIFT syllabus for 2021 includes sections and topics from where the questions are expected in the NIFT question paper.

With an in-depth understanding of the NIFT syllabus, the candidates will have a clear idea regarding the important topics of NIFT 2021, how well they have prepared those topics and what areas require their undivided attention. Candidates seeking NIFT 2021 admission must go through the entire syllabus before starting the preparation for the NIFT entrance exam. The NIFT 2021 syllabus will be different for different programmes as well as the General Ability Test (GAT), Creative Ability Test (CAT) and Situation Test (ST) which can be confusing for the candidates. Course-Wise NIFT 2021 Syllabus

For B.Des and M.Des

  • Quantitative Ability: The test contains questions based on Addition, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, Multiplication, Percentage, Division, Fractions, Rate of Interest and Distance.

  • Communication Ability: It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, plural, singular,  idioms and phrases, one-word substitutes, correct spellings etc.

  • English Comprehension: This subtest aims to test the candidate’s ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage, and test of basic English language.

  • Analytical Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s capacity for the ability of inference and logic from the given information.

  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The question in this sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge and current affairs.

For B.F.Tech, M.F.M, M.Des, M.F.Tech

  • Quantitative Ability: This subtest consists of questions based on Addition, Multiplication, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest and Distance.

  • Communication Ability and English Comprehension: This test includes questions on words with corresponding meanings, synonyms, antonyms, singular, plural, idioms and phrases, one-word substitutes, correct spellings, comprehend a situation from a given passage etc.

  • Analytical Ability and Logical Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s capacity for inference and logic from the given information and to evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify the given problem and apply reasoning in solving the core issues of the problem. Concepts and practice of creative and lateral thinking are likely to be useful.

  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs: This test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge and current affairs.

  • Case Study: This sub-test is based on a situation of an industry environment. It helps to evaluate the managerial ability of the candidate.

  • M.F.Tech will also have some questions from the engineering field.

NIFT 2021 Syllabus for CAT

NIFT conducts CAT or the creative ability test in order to examine illustrative and creative skills of an aspirant. NIFT CAT is the first stage of exam held by the National Institute of Fashion Design. It examines the aptitude of the applicants and they are tested on the basis of their Design Ability, Creativity, Illustration Skills, Innovative Use of Colours, Observation Power and Innovation in Development of a Concept. None of the NIFT seats remains vacant. The counselling process goes on until all the seats are filled with the corresponding category. Go through NIFT Counselling and NIFT Seat Matrix: Seat Allotment, Seat Reservation to understand the process better.
