UPSC CMS Eligibility Criteria 2025

UPSC CMS 2025 Eligibility Criteria is set by the Union Public Service Commission. The age of the candidates should not exceed 32 years on August 01. There is no minimum age limit but the minimum educational qualification should be matched. The candidates should have secured at least 50 to 55% marks in aggregate. Age relaxation is provided to candidates of certain categories appearing for the UPSC CMS Exam 2025. SC and ST category students have age relaxation of 5 years and OBC as well as defence service personnel who were disabled in the battlefield have 3 years of age relaxation. Indian citizens and Bhutan, Nepal or Tibet refugees who came to India before January 01, 1962 are eligible to apply.   • All candidates who are Indian Citizens are eligible to appear for the examination. 

  • All candidates who are subjects of Nepal or Bhutan are eligible to apply for the examination. 

  • All candidates who have come to India and settled down here from Tibet before 1st January, 1962, are eligible to appear for the examination. 

  • All candidates who are of Indian Origin and have migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African Countries, and settled down here are eligible to apply for the examination. 

  • All candidates who are not Indian Citizens must produce their eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India at the time of application process.

Note:

  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

To begin with, candidates must be below 32 years of age as on 1st August, 2025 to qualify for the examination, and applicants who are born before 2nd August, 1962 are not eligible to appear for the examination.

UPSC CMS Eligibility Criteria 2025: Educational Qualifications

  • All candidates who have successfully cleared their MBBS written and practical exams are eligible to appear for the UPSC CMS 2025 examination. 
  • All candidates in the final year of their MBBS programme are also eligible to appear for the examination. 
  • All candidates who have cleared their MBBS final programme but are yet to receive their final degree are also eligible to appear for the examination, however, subject to cancellation in case they fail to produce proof of having passed the MBBS programme.
  • All candidates are required to comply with all eligibility criteria as mentioned above in order to increase their chances of admission in their desired institutions through UPSC CMS 2025.
  • A candidate who has yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is educationally eligible for admission to the examination but on selection Process, he/she will be appointed only after he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship.

UPSC CMS Eligibility 2025: Medical & Physical Standards

In order to be eligible to appear for the UPSC CMS 2025 exam, candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards set by the concerned authority. They should meet the following parameters:  

Height: Men - 165 cm and women 150 cm

Vision: 6/6 distant vision for men and 6/12 for women

Chest: 79 cm for women and 84 cm for men 

Blood Sugar: Below 140 mg/dl

Blood Pressure: 120/80 mmHg

As per the official medical standards:

Organ/System: Normal candidates with undescended testicles for up to 21 days on one or both sides will be considered unfit. They will have to report to the authority with the orchidectomy and negative biopsy report for malignancy.

Candidates with hernia, piles, varicocele, hydrocele will be considered unfit for 21 days.

Candidates who suffered from venereal disease will be declared unfit. They will have to undergo a detailed examination and serological test report negative.
