AP PGECET 2019 Cut-Off

APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education) is the authority for determining the minimum qualifying cutoff mark for AP PGECET 2019. Candidates aspiring for AP PGECET must satisfy the cutoff specified by APSCHE to be eligible for the counselling process of AP PGECET 2019. The minimum qualifying cutoff for AP PGECET 2019 varies from one category to another.

AP PGECET 2019 applicants must score a minimum of 25% of marks, i.e., 30 out of 120 to be eligible for the counselling process. All the candidates who scored the minimum cutoff specified by APSCHE for AP PGECET 2019 will be declared eligible. However, the 25% minimum qualifying rule applies only for General category, and there is no minimum qualifying mark or cutoff for candidates belonging to SC/ ST categories.

AP PGECET 2019 cutoff is important to determine the rank of all the qualifiers of the entrance exam. Even though GATE aspirants are given first preference in the selection process, there is no minimum cutoff specified by APSCHE for GATE qualified candidates. Candidates who are registering through GATE score must note that he/she should have a minimum qualifying score in the same to be eligible for the AP PGECET 2019 counselling process.

On the other hand, there are no specific factors for determining the cutoff of AP PGECET, as the selection process is based on opening and closing ranks of colleges. The participating colleges of AP PGECET counselling must note that the allocation of the seat is based on the opening rank of a specific college. Let us look at the example below for more details.

Example 1 - Let us assume that student ‘A’ has secured 20 th  rank in AP PGECET exam 2019. During the web counselling process, he opted VR Siddhartha Engineering College and Computer Science Engineering as the first priority. If student ‘A’ is the first student to opt for Computer Science Engineering course at VR Siddhartha, the opening rank of the respective college will be 20, and the seats will be allocated accordingly.

Example 2 - Let us assume that student ‘B’ has scored 45 th  rank in AP PGECET exam 2019. During the web counselling process, he opted Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology (ALIET) and VLSI as the first priority. If student ‘B’ is the first student to opt AILET and VLSI as the first priority, 45 is the opening rank for the respective college and course.
