CMAT 2022 Exam Analysis
The CMAT 2022 exam was slightly tougher than CMAT 2021. The overall difficulty level of the exam ranged from moderate to high. Only 2-3 questions from each section were tricky but the rest were doable. The difficulty level of the GK and I&E sections was the highest and the DI section was the lengthiest among all the sections. The Quant and Verbal Ability sections were comparatively easier. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation (QTDI)
- There was a good mix of questions from various topics in the QTDI section.
- The difficulty level of half of the questions was low.
- The difficulty level of the remaining questions ranged from low to moderate.
- A few difficult questions were also asked.
- Questions on Data Interpretation were slightly difficult.
- Candidates encountered new varieties of questions given in this area– Match the following type, statement-based questions that are usually included in GA or Reasoning.
- A wide range of topics like Numbers, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Ratio & Proportion, Compound Interest, Mensuration, Geometry, Probability, Sets & Venn Diagrams, etc. dominated this section.
- A candidate who was well prepared could easily answer 17-20 questions in this section.

Logical Reasoning
- A total of 20 questions were asked in this section out of which 15 were on Non-Verbal Reasoning and 5 questions were on Verbal Reasoning.
- All the questions in this section were standalone questions. No set-based questions were asked.
- Topics like Directions, Series Completion, Arrangements, Family Tree etc. dominated the non-verbal section.
- Very few questions were found on Puzzles, and the majority of the questions were based on other areas.
- Few questions were asked on Critical Reasoning as well.
- As reported by students, there was an error in one of the blood relations based questions. In one question based on Family Tree, the correct answer did not match with any option provided.
- It was also observed that the questions were not lengthy. Many questions in the LR section were straightforward and could be solved by the test-takers very easily.
- Around 16-17 attempts with 80% accuracy was considered a good attempt in this section.

Language Comprehension
- There was one Reading Comprehension passage with 4 questions. The length of the RC passage was around 350 words and it was not difficult to understand.
- The Reading Comprehension passage was based on megacities and urban development.
- Most of the questions were based on inferences.
- One question was asked based on the main idea and supporting idea, one on the meaning of a phrase, and one on meanings of four quotes from the passage.
- There were 16 questions on Verbal Ability. The non-RC questions were easy to answer.
- Given that this is the third section in the test, the difficulty-level of this section ranges from moderate to high.
- Candidates who attempted this set early did not find this section to be that challenging.
- Verbal questions were based on Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, Idiom and Phrases, Spellings, and Analogies. Grammar questions were asked from sentence correction, direct speech, prepositions, and verbs.
- Additionally, there was a four-sentence quiz on homophones. The 4-sentence paragraph was jumbled and required some amount of effort to be solved.
- Overall, this was a comfortable section, which required application to solve questions easily and accurately.
- Around 16-17 attempts in this section with 80% accuracy was considered a good attempt in this section.

- A total of 20 questions were asked in this section out of which 16 questions were based on Static GK and 4 questions were based on Current Affairs.
- Around 11 questions were based on Indian events.
- 4 questions were asked on international events.
- The remaining 5 questions were based on miscellaneous topics.
- Most of the questions were on Sports, constitution, history, books and authors, awards, physics, geography, etc.
- Overall, the difficulty level of this section was high.
- Since the questions in this section were asked from various areas, only those students who have the habit of reading the newspapers regularly would have found this section to be relatively easy. Others may have found this section very challenging and have struggled to score a high score in this section.
- 10+ attempts with 80% accuracy was regarded as a good number of attempts in this section.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- A total of 20 questions were asked in this section out of which 13 questions were based on Static GK and 7 questions were framed on Current Affairs.
- The questions were framed in a manner that they evaluate the interest of a test-taker in this domain.
- No RC passage based questions were found in this section in the year 2022.
- Questions on Entrepreneurship related concepts/terms, economics, business, management, government schemes, and general awareness regarding Innovation & Entrepreneurship dominated this section.
- The overall difficulty level of this section was moderate to high.
- Only those students who have the habit of reading the Business section of the newspaper daily would have found this to be very easy.
- The questions were generic and not detail/specifics oriented.
- 12+ attempts with 80% accuracy was regarded as a good number of attempts in this section.
