About DECE LE 2026

The DECE LE 2026 application form is expected to be released in March 2026. Those interested in applying must have completed 10+2 in Science/ a 2-year ITI programme or / an approved vocational or technical course, along with satisfying the domicile requirements of Bihar. Applicants waiting for their final year results of the qualifying examination may also be permitted to apply, provided they meet the eligibility conditions during DECE LE counselling.

The examination is conducted in offline OMR mode. Overall, there are 150 multiple-choice questions across Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct response is worth 4 marks, and the paper is evaluated out of 600. The total duration is 2 hours 15 minutes.

DECE LE is organised by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board for granting admission to second-year Diploma Engineering programmes in government and private polytechnic institutions in the state. DECE LE 2026 Application Form

The DECE LE application form is made available online by the conducting body around March/ April every year. To submit it, you must complete all stages within the specified time. The DECE LE application process begins with online registration, during which you provide basic personal details and verify your mobile number and email ID through one-time passwords. 

After successful registration for DECE LE, you must log in to fill the multi-step application form by providing personal information, communication details, educational qualifications and uploading scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the prescribed format. In the third step, preview the form carefully and make sure there are no errors in it. Once done, move to the next step and make the examination fee payment online through the available payment methods. In the final stage, a confirmation page will be generated upon successful submission. You must save and retain this confirmation page, as it will be required during later stages of the admission process.

DECE LE 2026 Exam Pattern

The DECE LE exam pattern must be known to the aspirants preparing for the test. The exam is held in offline OMR mode, and the questions are MCQ-based. The main segments include  Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and for each correct response, you receive +4. Negative marking is applicable, and -1 is deducted for every wrong answer.

To mark the answers during the exam on the OMR sheet, you have to use a ballpoint pen, ensuring that responses are filled accurately. The final evaluation is done solely on the answers recorded in the OMR sheet submitted at the examination centre.

Cartesian Coordinate System,  Concept of particles, Uniform rectilinear motion, Force and Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotation, Gravitation, Properties of Matter, Heat and thermodynamics, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, etc.

Chemistry includes basic concepts from physical, organic and inorganic chemistry that support technical understanding at the diploma level. Mathematics emphasises arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, etc., concepts.

DECE LE 2026 Admit Card

The DECE LE admit card is issued by the conducting body a few days before the examination and is mandatory to appear for the exam. Those who submitted their applications successfully can access them from the official website.

The DECE LE hall ticket contains details such as the name of the exam taker, roll number, examination date, allotted exam centre, and important instructions to be followed on the day of the test. It is important to verify all information printed on the admit card. In case of any discrepancies, report them to the conducting body.

DECE LE 2026 Result

The DECE LE result is released online within 3 to 4 weeks after the exam. Students can download their scorecards by entering their credentials once the link is live. The result includes the marks obtained and overall rank.

After obtaining the DECE LE result/ rank card, you must preserve it, as both documents will be required at the time of verification during the DECELE counselling. The Board doesn’t dispatch the scorecards offline. It is compulsory to retrieve it online.

DECE LE 2026 Counselling

The DECE LE counselling process is typically organised across 2 rounds after the results. Those who qualify in the examination must participate in counselling to be considered for admission into second-year Diploma Engineering programmes. 

The process includes release of seat matrix, online choice filling, provisional seat allotment, grievance submission against preliminary seat allocation, final seat allotment list launch, obtaining allotment order, document verification and admission. You will be required to present certificates related to your educational qualifications, caste category, domicile status, income (if applicable) and other documents listed in the official guidelines. 

Seat allotment is based on the aspirant’s rank, category and preferences, along with the availability of seats in participating institutions. Once a seat is allotted, you must follow the instructions issued by the admission cell and report to the allotted institution within the specified timeframe. Failure to complete any stage of the counselling process may lead to cancellation of the allotment.
