About NEET PG Counselling 2024 (Admission till Nov 30)

NEET PG Counselling 2024 will begin after the release of NEET PG result. It is anticipated that the counselling process will begin in the month of July 2024NEET PG exam for 2024-25 is scheduled to be conducted on March 3, 2-24, and results for the same will be out a month after that. As per the latest update, the NEET PG 2023 Counselling special stray round admission to colleges last date is November 30, 2023.

NEET PG candidates who are already registered on the MCC portal can directly use the link given above and log in using the NEET PG roll number and passwords, whereas candidates who are not registered can register themselves by clicking on "New Candidate Registration" in the same link given above. NEET PG 2024 Counselling Important Instructions

Students must refer to the important instructions in detail before NEET PG counselling 2024 begins.

  • In total, 3 rounds of counselling for central and deemed universities will be held followed by one Final Mop Up round at the college level for stray vacancies.
  • Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir candidates are also considered eligible for All India Quota Counselling.
  • If students apply for both Deemed University and AIQ level, they have to pay only the higher fee i.e. INR 5000 of Deemed University.
  • In case, a seat is allotted during round 1, students are required to join the allotted college/ institute and complete the admission formalities.
  • In case a discrepancy in spelling in the documents of the candidate is found, then the student must submit proof that the documents belong to the same person, in the form of an undertaking/ affidavit.

NEET PG Counselling 2024 Eligibility Criteria

All eligible candidates who secure the NEET PG 2024 cutoff are deemed eligible to be allowed to participate in the NEET PG 2024 counselling rounds. Apart from achieving the minimum qualifying score, there are additional requirements that need to be met:

  1. It is mandatory for all candidates to clear the NEET PG 2024 exam in order to be considered eligible for the NEET PG counselling 2024 process.
  2. Candidates must score higher than the minimum cutoff range specified by the concerned authorities.
  3. There are no limitations on placements based on domicile.
  4. If a candidate fails to meet the required eligibility criteria for the NEET PG 2024 Counselling process, they will be deemed ineligible to participate.

There are specific conditions under which aspirants may be deemed ineligible to participate for NEET PG 2024 counselling process:

  1. Students from J&K: The participation of aspirants from the Union Territory of J&K is subject to the availability of seats allocated to the region.
  2. OCI/Foreign/PIO Nationals: As per the Ministry of Home Affairs Gazette Notification No. S.O.1050(E) dated 4th March 2024 (subject to the outcome of W.P. No. (C) No. 891 of 2024 as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India), OCI/Foreign/PIO nationals are considered ineligible for All India Quota seats.

NEET PG counselling 2024 is held online on MCC's official website. All eligible students have to register themselves to participate in the counselling rounds. Students need to fill in relevant details, upload documents, and choose their preferred colleges as well as course. To gauge a better understanding of the NEET PG counselling 2024 process, refer to the steps given below.

NEET PG 2023 Counselling Process

Step 1: Registration

This is the first step for NEET-PG counselling. Qualified candidates have to enter their Roll number, Stream, Testing ID, Candidates’ name, Date of Birth and a Security pin to register themselves for counselling process. Afterwards, a Registration slip is generated indicating the details of candidates. Steps for registration are following:

  • Visit the official website link.

  • Click on the “New Registration” link.

  • Register yourself for the counselling by providing login credentials such as Application Number, Roll Number, DOB, and Name.

  • After that, click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Step 2: Login for NEET PG 2024 Counselling

  • After successful registration, you have to login with your login ID and the chosen Password.

  • Applicants will be required to submit details such as the mother’s name, father’s name and address details of the candidate.

  • Click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Note: It must be noted that the information provided should be similar to the documents applicants will submit at the time of admission.

Step 3: Payment of Fees:

In this step of NEET PG counselling 2024, applicants will be required to submit the non-refundable registration fee. The fees can be paid only online through Credit/Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

Step 4: Filling and Submission of Choices for NEET PG 2024 Counselling

In this step, applicants have to fill and submit their choices for NEET PG counselling purposes. Applicants have to fill the choices according to their preferences.

  • You can fill in as many options but should make sure to submit the same in the order of preference.

  • After selecting choices, applicants will be asked to click on ‘Save & Continue’ tab.

Step 5: NEET PG 2024 Mock Counselling

Here, applicants are given a mock practice of how the counselling process works, as conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The allotment of the seats is done on the basis of applicant’s choices and All India Rank.

Step 6: Choice Locking Facility for NEET PG 2024 Counselling

  • After filling the choices, applicants get an option to lock their choices by clicking on ‘Choice lock’. For choice locking of NEET PG 2024 counselling, applicants are required to enter their password.

  • After locking the choices, it is advisable to take a printout of the locked choices.

  • If the applicant does not lock the choice submitted by them, submitted choices by them will be automatically locked

Step 7: Seat Allotment for NEET PG Counselling 2024

  • After choice filling, the seat allotment process will take place.

  • The seat allotment will be done on the basis of the choices filled by applicants, availability of seats and All India Rank.

  • After seat allotment, MCC will publish the result of  1st round counselling displaying All India Rank, institute allotted, subjects, the category under which admission was granted.

Step 8: Reporting at Allotted Colleges

This is the final step of the NEET-PG counselling 2024 process. Applicants have to download the allotment letter and must report at the allotted institutes along with the relevant documents and fee.

What to Expect during NEET PG Counselling 2024?

During NEET PG Counselling 2024, candidates can expect the following:

  1. Online Registration: Candidates who have qualified for NEET PG 2024 must register online for the counseling process. They will be required to provide their personal and academic details, including their NEET PG score and rank.
  2. Choice Filling: Once registered, candidates will have to fill in their preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. Candidates can fill in as many choices as they want, but they should ensure that the choices are based on their eligibility and availability of seats.

  4. Document Verification: After the seat allotment process, candidates will have to report to the designated center for document verification. They will need to carry original documents and photocopies of the same for verification.
  5. Reporting to the Allotted College: Once the document verification process is complete, candidates will need to report to the allotted college within the stipulated time frame, pay the required fees, and complete the admission formalities.
  6. Second Round of Counselling: If seats remain vacant after the first round of counseling, a second round of counseling will be conducted. Candidates who have not been allotted seats in the first round can participate in the second round and fill in fresh choices of colleges and courses.

NEET PG Counselling 2024 Round 1 - Options to Choose

Once the round 1 NEET PG 2024 counselling results are announced, candidates will be presented with three options:

Free Exit: Aspirants have the choice to opt for a free exit by not reporting to the allotted institute within the specified timeframe. This means they will not proceed with the admission process and can explore other options.

Accept Allotted College: Candidates can choose to accept the college allotted to them and complete the admission process by paying the required fees. This confirms their seat in the allotted college for the program.

Upgrade and Wait for Round 2: Alternatively, candidates can opt to upgrade and wait for the NEET PG round 2 counselling results. By selecting this option, the seat allotted to them in the first round will be put on hold. If a better seat becomes available in the subsequent round, they may upgrade to the new seat. However, if no upgrade is achieved during the NEET PG counselling 2024 second round, the originally allotted seat from the first round will be retained.

NEET PG Counselling 2024 Round 2

The second round of the MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling is the same as that of round 1. Students who are participating in round two of MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling must be aware that there is no option available for ‘free exit’. If an aspirant doesn’t secure their NEET PG admission 2024 in the college/ seat allotted during round 2, the security deposit will be forfeited immediately.

NEET PG 2024 Counselling Mop-Up Round

The NEET PG 2024 counselling Mop-Up round is a final opportunity for candidates who have not been allotted any seat in the previous rounds of counselling. The Mop-Up round is conducted to fill the remaining vacant seats after the completion of the first and second rounds of counselling.

The Mop-Up round is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates who have registered for NEET PG 2024 and are eligible can participate in the Mop-Up round.
