Types of NEET PG Counselling 2025

The different types of NEET PG Counselling 2025 have been mentioned in detail below:

  • 50% AIQ Counselling: The All India Quota counselling is conducted by the MCC for 50% of the total seats. Under this, students who have secured top scores in NEET PG can apply for their desired colleges across the country. All AIIMS institutes, NIMHANS, etc., offer admission to postgraduate medical courses under the NEET PG AIQ 50% Counselling. Admissions to Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions are conducted under the AIQ counselling. 
  • 50% State Quota Counselling: The remaining 50% seats are filled through the 50% State Quota Counselling process. The various state counselling bodies conduct the state-wise NEET PG State Quota counselling on behalf of the MCC. Only those who are domiciled in the respective states will be eligible for participation in the particular state counselling process. Admissions to private medical colleges and deemed universities are also conducted under this process. 

According to the NEET PG counselling 2025 schedule, students who do not get a seat in the AIQ counselling can opt to apply for the State Quota counselling process.

NEET PG 2025 Counselling Process

The NEET PG 2025 counselling date will be announced shortly. The detailed NEET PG counselling schedule 2025 has been provided below for all students to refer to:

Step 1: Registration

This is the first step for NEET-PG counselling. Qualified candidates have to enter their Roll number, Stream, Testing ID, candidate's name, Date of Birth, and Security pin to register themselves for the counselling process. Afterwards, a Registration slip is generated indicating the details of the candidates. The steps for registration are the following:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website link.
  • Step 2: Click on the “New Registration” link.
  • Step 3: Students must register themselves for the counselling by providing login credentials such as Application Number, Roll Number, DOB, and Name.
  • Step 4: After that, they must click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Step 2: Log in for NEET PG 2025 Counselling

  • After successful registration, you have to log in with your login ID and the chosen Password.
  • Applicants will be required to submit details such as the mother’s name, father’s name, and address details of the candidate.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ tab.

Note: It must be noted that the information provided should be similar to the documents applicants will submit at the time of admission.

Step 3: Payment of Fees:

In this step of NEET PG counselling 2025, applicants will be required to submit the non-refundable registration fee. The fees can be paid only online through Credit/Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. 

  • After the successful submission of fees, the registration slip will appear on the screen. Students are suggested to keep the printed application form for further use.
  • To continue with the process, click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 4: Filling and Submission of Choices for NEET PG 2025 Counselling

In this step, applicants have to fill out and submit their choices for NEET PG counselling purposes. Applicants have to fill in the choices according to their preferences.

  • Students can fill in as many options but should make sure to submit the same in the order of preference.
  • After selecting choices, applicants will be asked to click on the ‘Save & Continue’ tab.

Step 5: NEET PG 2025 Mock Counselling

Here, applicants are given a mock practice of how the counselling process works, as conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The allotment of the seats is done based on the applicant’s choices and All India Rank.

Step 6: Choice Locking Facility for NEET PG 2025 Counselling

  • After filling in the choices, applicants get an option to lock their choices by clicking on ‘Choice lock’. For choice locking of NEET PG 2025 counselling, applicants are required to enter their password.
  • After locking the choices, it is advisable to take a printout of the locked choices.
  • If the applicant does not lock the choice submitted by them, the submitted choices will be automatically locked

Step 7: Seat Allotment for NEET PG Counselling 2025

  • After choice filling, the seat allotment process will take place.
  • The seat allotment will be done based on the choices filled by applicants, availability of seats and All India Rank.
  • After seat allotment, MCC will publish the result of the first round of counselling, displaying the All India Rank, the institute allotted, the subjects, and the category under which admission was granted.

This is the final step of the NEET-PG counselling 2025 process. Applicants have to download the allotment letter and must report to the allotted institutes along with the relevant documents and fees.

NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 1 Options to Choose

After the declaration of the first round NEET PG counselling seat allotment result, students have to enter choices based on their application. There will be a total of 3 options available during the NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 1 Choice Filling. The process to choose the right options is described below.

  • Free Exit: Aspirants have the choice to opt for a free exit by not reporting to the allotted institute within the specified timeframe. This means they will not proceed with the admission process and can explore other options.
  • Accept Allotted College: Candidates can choose to accept the college allotted to them and complete the admission process by paying the required fees. This confirms their seat in the allotted college for the program.
  • Upgrade and Wait for Round 2: Alternatively, candidates can opt to upgrade and wait for the NEET PG round 2 counselling results. By selecting this option, the seat allotted to them in the first round will be put on hold. If a better seat becomes available in the subsequent round, they may upgrade to the new seat.
