UPES DAT 2024 counselling process is regarded to remain the same each academic year. However, if there are any modifications made to this counselling process by the conducting body, then students will be able to find the same on the official website. As per the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, the counselling process and the official dates related to it will be released only after the result declaration. 

Candidates who have appeared for the UPES DAT 2024 must note that the counselling schedule will be released on the official website once announced. Only students who are shortlisted based on the entrance exam score will be called for the counselling round. The counselling round call letter will be provided on the candidate’s registered email ID. This counselling process comprises various rounds such as personal interview, portfolio evaluation, seat allotment, document verification and submission of fees. The UPES DAT 2024 counselling process will take place after the results are declared. This counselling process includes interviews and portfolio presentations for both BDes and MDes programmes. Check out the detailed counselling process below: 

Counselling for B.Des

Check out the counselling process for BDes below: 

• Register: Only qualified students will be called for UPES DAT 2024 counselling. Students have to register themselves online to appear in the counselling process. 
• Seat availability: Candidates will be allotted seats based on the availability of seats. 
• Selection rounds: The counselling process includes a personal interview and presentation of a work portfolio. All shortlisted students have to appear in these selection rounds. 

Portfolio Requirements for B.Des Candidates

Refer to the requirements of portfolio for BDes students below: 

• Sketches: Students are required to bring along their sketches drawn by them using pencil, pen, colour markers or any other instrument.
• Drawings of any type: They can create drawings of nature, symbolic designs, experimental art, nature etc to present in the portfolio. 
• Pictures captured: Students can showcase the pictures/images clicked by them to increase their selection chances. 
• 2D or 3D work: Candidates can also present any experimentation on digital media, indicating the use of 2D or 3D digital media, tools and techniques for drawing, sketching and rendering. These samples can be carried by students to showcase their creativity.
• Physical model/prototype mode: They can also bring along a Physical Model or Prototype mode by using Clay, Plastic, Wood, cardboard etc to showcase their creative talent. 

Counselling for M.Des

Check out the MDes counselling process: 

• Registration: Only students who qualify for UPES DAT will be called for the counselling process of MDes. Shortlisted candidates have to register themselves online to participate in the counselling process. 
• Slots: The counselling process comprises slot allotment based on the availability of seats.
• Other selection rounds: There will be other selection rounds under the counselling process which include personal interviews and the presentation of a work portfolio.

Portfolio Requirements for M.Des Candidates

Refer to the portfolio requirements for MDes candidates below:

• Hand-drawn drawings: Students are advised to carry sketches and a variety of drawings which are hand-drawn by using various sorts of techniques and media such as colour markers and pencils. 
• Physical model or prototype: For the portfolio evaluation round, students can also bring along any physical model or prototype made by using fabrication or construction work to showcase their creative skills. 
• Digital work: They can also carry any sort of digital work (software) 2D or 3D like drawing, sketching and rendering using digital media, tools and techniques.
