VIT University conducts the VITEEE counselling in the month of May every year for all the qualified candidates. VITEEE 2020 counselling process will begin in May 2020 for B.Tech admission in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). Registering for VITEEE counselling is mandatory for the qualified candidates. After the registration process, candidates are asked to appear for the document verification at the allotted counselling venue.
During the counselling session, the seat allotment will be done based on the rank secured by candidates in VITEEE 2019. The physical presence of the candidates is mandatory at the counselling venue. Cancellation of the candidature will be done for those who are unable to appear for the counselling process.
At the counselling center, checking the availability of seats for different branches of the participating institutes will also be possible for the qualified candidates. This information will help the candidates in making the right choice related to courses and colleges.

The step-wise VITEEE 2020 counselling procedure has been provided below for the eligible candidates:
Step 1: The candidates must report at their counselling centre and register themselves for the counselling process.
Step 2: Next, the candidates must submit their documents for verification purpose.
Step 3: The candidates will be allotted campus and branch based on their performance in the entrance examination.
Step 4: The digital signature, photograph and the fingerprint of the candidates will be uploaded.
Step 5: The candidates next have to upload their documents on the student profile.
Step 6: The candidates have to submit the requisite fee amount for confirmation of allotted seat. The candidates have to submit a DD (Demand Draft) for INR 50,000 in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) payable at Vellore. A non-refundable amount of INR 11,800 will be deducted from the amount which will be the counselling fee.
Step 7: Candidates have to submit a separate DD in favour of VIT payable at Vellore for INR 21,000 if they opt for hostel facility. A non-refundable amount of INR 12,000 will be deducted from the amount which will be the hostel admission processing fee.
The following instructions regarding the VITEEE 2020 counselling procedure will help the candidates during seat/branch allocation:
Only the shortlisted candidates will be allocated branches which will be based on their VITEEE 2020 rank.
A single window counselling process will be followed for B.Tech admission in VIT Amravathi/ Bhopal/ Chennai/ Vellore.
Shortlisted candidates may choose to attend any of the provided counselling centres according to their convenience.
Keeping in mind the number of possible absentees, the number of available seats in VIT is fewer than the number of qualified candidates.
Admission into VIT is based on the candidate’s performance in the VITEEE 2020 entrance exam and availability of seats and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
The candidates have to choose their branches on the basis of the total number of allocated and available seats which will be displayed at the counselling centre.
Candidates are supposed to check the official VIT website for information related to VITEEE 2020 counselling procedure.
The candidates must be physically present at the counselling centre/s on the given date and time. The seat of a candidate will be transferred to the next candidate in order of merit if he/she fails to appear on the counselling date/time.
The candidates may opt to appear for the counselling process on later time/date but only after informing the concerned body. In such a case, the candidates will only be able to choose from the available campus/branch.
The number of vacant seats, after the counselling procedure for the day is over, will be updated on the official VIT website.
Candidates have to produce the following documents in original along with two sets of photocopies while reporting for counselling at the counselling venue. Without these documents, candidates are not allowed to participate in the counselling process.
Certificate of 10th boards as a proof for Date of Birth or any other age proof certificate or birth certificate.
Caste Certificate if applicable (For SC/ST only).
Mark sheet of Qualifying Examination (If available)/ XII admit card (for candidates awaiting results).
Nativity Certificate (for candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura).
DD for Rs. 50,000/- drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vellore.
Candidates can pay the balance fees through online mode or with the help of demand draft (DD). The form of the DD should be drawn in favour of Vellore Institute of Technology. Candidates should send it to the postal address of the campus within the specific time at the time of counselling. It is also advisable for the candidates to write their names, rank, branch, application number etc on the reverse side of the DD at the time of counselling.
