The BCI published the AIBE results 2023 on March 26, 2024. To check the AIBE 18 result 2023, candidates have to visit the AIBE portal and open the Registration link for AIBE XVIII. They have to provide the credentials asked for and log in to view their results.

7 questions were withdrawn, hence the AIBE result 2023 result is based on 93 marks instead of 100. For the General / OBC category, the passing mark is 45% of 93 marks (revised total mark), which equals 42 marks. While for the SC / ST / disabled category aspirants, the passing mark is 40% of 93 marks, which amounts to 37 marks. The examination was organised on December 10, 2023. Candidates who pass AIBE receive a Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is required to practise in a court of law.

Candidates who achieve passing marks receive the “Certificate of Practise” by post from the Bar Council of India (BCI). The candidates must visit the official website on a regular basis to keep track of the event. Candidates who fail the AIBE XViII exam must keep the following points in mind. 

  • The AIBE exam is normally administered once a year, however, occasionally it may be administered more than once (up to two times a year).
  • A candidate is permitted to take the AIBE exam as many times as necessary to pass it.
  • The best course of action is to sit down and consider the causes of the failure. Make a strategy to address the gaps after they are found.
  • Additionally, candidates must make sure they have the best selection of books since they will struggle to get the required outcome without quality reference materials.

  • The candidate must be a 3-year or 5-year LLB graduate and enrolled with a state bar council in order to qualify to take the AIBE exam.

AIBE 2023 Certificate of Practice

Law graduates who pass the All India Bar Examination are awarded the Certificate of Practice, or COP (AIBE exam). In India, law graduates must get the certification in order to practice law in a court. After the announcement of the AIBE results, the COP will be issued to the candidates who qualified in the AIBE exam. Candidates who passed the AIBE exam must get their COP from the appropriate State Bar Council.

AIBE 2023: Normalisation of AIBE Score

As per the normalisation process, candidates are ensured that they are neither at an advantageous position nor disadvantaged. To manage variations in the examination’s difficulty level for different slots, the normalisation process is carried out. Based on the normalisation process, aspirants are given two kinds of marks. 

Raw marks: Raw marks is the actual figure secured by the test takers.

Normalised marks: Normalised marks are the updated marks that is issued to the aspirants depending on the relative challenge level of the slot in which they took the examination to the other slots. If the conducting body considers one slot as easier than the other, then the marks allotted by normalisation will be less than the actual marks obtained by the candidates.

Also, if the complexity level of the examination of one slot was more difficult than the other one, then the marks allocated per normalisation will be more than the main marks secured by the aspirants.
