How to Apply for AIBE 2018

AIBE (All India Bar Examination) is conducted by the Bar Council of India for candidates who have passed the law degree and want to practice. The candidates who qualify AIBE will receive the Certificate of Practice from the Bar Council of India. It is an open book exam which will take place on December 23, 2018. Since it is an open book exam, candidates can carry as many bare acts as they want but it is also important to read the bare acts beforehand so that they do not get confused with tricky questions. Being thorough with the bare act will help candidates attempt questions easily and in a timely manner.

AIBE will be conducted in more than 40 cities across India and it will be published in 11 languages. There is no negative marking in AIBE. AIBE tests a candidate’s skill and knowledge to practice law professionally in India. The exam will have multiple choice questions. 

AIBE XIII Application Form 2018 is available in both online and offline modes. The application process for AIBE XII 2018 has started from September 26, 2018, and it will end on December 10, 2018. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on 23rd December 2018. As part of the AIBE application process 2018, candidates have to provide all the necessary details to apply for the exam.

Before filling AIBE application form, candidates are advised to keep the following documents handy.

  • Advocate ID (if issued by State Bar Council),
  • Enrollment Certificate,
  • Scanned photo & signature,
  • Category certificate (if applicable),
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)

How to Fill AIBE XIII 2018 Application Form


  • Candidates can get the application form in both online and offline modes.
  • After receiving the application form, candidates have to enter details such as:
    • Candidate’s Name,
    • Father’s Name,
    • Mother’s Name,
    • Address,
    • Educational qualification details and much more.
  • The deadline for submitting the filled in online and offline application form will be 10th December, 2018.
  • After providing all the details and clicking on the 'Save' button, a Registration number and Password is generated and will be sent to the candidates’ Mobile no. and Email ID.

Upload the Documents:

At the time of registering for AIBE 2018, candidates need to upload the following list of documents along with the application form. Documents should be attested by Gazetted Officer. If a document is uploaded without attestation, it will be rejected.

  • Advocate ID card (issued by State Bar Council)
  • Enrollment Certificate
  • Scanned Photograph and Signature
  • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if applicable).

Candidate Details & Test Centre Choice:

  • Next, candidates have to fill details such as type (Fresh or Repeat student), Category (General/OBC/SC/ST) and also mention if they have any disability. Further, candidates need to give three preferences for exam centres.
  • Also, candidates need to select the AIBE question paper language from – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.

Payment of Fees:

Application fees can only be deposited through bank challan of SBI. No other payment mode will be accepted. Candidates can make the payment after 24 hours of registration.

Rs 3,500 + Rs 60 SBI Bank surcharge = Rs 3,560

SC/ST category

Rs 2,500 + Rs 60= Rs 2,560

Application Form Submission:

  • Candidates are instructed not to send a hard copy of the filled in the application form or any other document to the Bar Council of India.
  • Candidates can download and take a print out of their application form of AIBE for further reference.

Application Form Correction:

If you have entered an incorrect information or uploaded the wrong document, please mail it to BCI at with your registration number. Any correction request received after issuance of the admission letter will be sent to the Council for approval.
