To be eligible for AP ICET 2026, you must be an Indian citizen. Typically, NRIs cannot apply for the exam. However, admission may be granted to foreign nationals who fulfil certain conditions prescribed by the conducting authority.
According to the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions Order, you must qualify as either local or non-local. Proof of domicile, including a valid residence certificate, may at times be required at the time of admission to determine the eligibility of the candidate. Satisfying the domicile conditions ensures that you fit the admission criteria for a particular state.
If you seek admission to an MBA course via AP ICET 2026, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent. The minimum requirement of completed years of study is three from a recognised university or institution. In case you belong to the General category, you have to achieve at least 50% aggregate marks from all subjects, whereas reserved category candidates should aim for a minimum of 45%.
For admission to the MCA program, you must have a Bachelor's degree of at least three years of duration with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General category candidates and 45% for reserved categories (SC/ST). You must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level or during your graduation course.
All degrees obtained from universities or institutions recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or other statutory authorities are considered valid for AP ICET 2026. You should check for DEC approval when you earn a degree through distance education.
If you are in the final year of your bachelor's course, you can still apply. However, you must produce their qualifying degree certificates and marks sheet, if demanded during the course of admission, to confirm your eligibility.
There is no upper age restriction to apply for AP ICET 2026. Candidates of every age group may sit for the examination, subject to fulfilling the requisite educational qualifications.
Students belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST will get a relaxation of the minimum aggregate marks from 50% to 45% as per government norms. Other provisions for differently-abled candidates and other reserved categories may also be applicable.
