GUJCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria have been released by GSEB for all candidates applying for the upcoming session of the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) on the official website. The GUJCET 2026 eligibility criteria include various parameters, like the candidate's minimum and maximum age, educational qualification, minimum marks obtained in the qualifying exam, domicile rules, etc. According to the Gujarat CET2026 Eligibility Criteria, applicants must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and any of Biology/Chemistry/Computer/Vocational subjects to be eligible for the GUJCET 2026 Exam.
To be eligible to sit for GUJCET 2026, candidates must fulfil all the requirements of the eligibility criteria. Any candidate who fails to satisfy any of the mentioned eligibility conditions shall not be permitted to submit the GUJCET Application Form 2026 or appear for the test.

Candidates applying for GUJCET 2026 are required to satisfy the domicile rules specified below -
Domicile Rule 1: The candidate must be a permanent resident of the state of Gujarat.
Domicile Rule 2: The candidate must have completed his/her Class 10th & 12th from the Gujarat Board. Candidates who have passed Classes 10 & 12 from the CBSE board are also eligible for the entrance exam. However, he/she must have studied in a school located in Gujarat.
Domicile Rule 3: The candidates who have studied Class 10th & 12th from schools located in Dadra Nagar & Haveli, Daman & Diu are also eligible for the entrance exam. However, the candidate's parents should be of Gujarat origin.
Domicile Rule 4: The candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th from ICSE/ISE Board from any of the schools located in Gujarat are also eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
Domicile Rule 5: Candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible for GUJCET. However, the study centre of the candidates must be located in Gujarat state only.
Apart from the GUJCET domicile rules, the candidates must also satisfy the educational qualification as per the GUJCET 2026 eligibility norms set by GSEB. The required academic qualifications to apply for GUJCET 2026 are stated below -
The candidate must have passed Class 12 with PCM/PCB stream
The candidates must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% marks
Candidates belonging to Reserved categories and PH category are given 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks
Candidates belonging to the Reserved categories can apply for GUJCET 2026 under the reservation policy. While reporting for the counselling, all the candidates who have been allotted seats through reservation will have to produce their category certificates as per the GUJCET Eligibility Criteria 2026. Candidates will be offered admission as per their rank and the GUJCET Reservation Policy 2026. The candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% of marks.
The lower age limit for GUJCET is 17 years while the upper age limit is 25 years.
Students with a diploma are not eligible to apply for GUJCET.
There is no restriction on the number of times you can apply for GUJCET.
OBC candidate must have passed Class 12th with PCM/ PCB stream. Minumim % in Class 12th must be 45%.
ST candidate must have passed Class 12th with PCM/ PCB stream. Minumim % in Class 12th must be 40%.
SC candidate must have passed Class 12th with PCM/ PCB stream. Minumim % in Class 12th must be 40%.
Candidate under EWS category must have passed Class 12th with PCM/ PCB stream. Minumim % in Class 12th must be 40%
The candidate whose parent's annual family income is less than Rs. 8,00,000 are eligible for Tuition Fee Waiver scheme.
50% of seats in Nirma University are reserved for candidates with a valid rank in GUJCET.
50% of seats in Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology are filled through GUJCET and 30% of seats are reserved for other state students and JEE Main qualified candidates.
Students from other states can apply for B.Tech admission in Gujarat. 5% of seats in all the private engineering colleges across Gujarat are allocated for non-Gujarat students. Candidates with JEE Main score can also apply for admission through this quota.
