GUJCET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to apply for GUJCET 2022 will have to fulfil some standard qualifications, which may include certain requirements related to age, nationality or academics. Candidates who satisfy these conditions will be termed eligible to take the exam and eventually apply for admission in engineering and degree/diploma pharmacy colleges. Candidates may note that the GUJCET 2022 eligibility criteria have been specified by the admission committee, i.e. ACPC. Those planning to take the exam must keep all the necessary documents ready to prove their eligibility during all the stages of selection. GUJCET 2022 Domicile Criteria/ Rules

Primarily, the candidates need to satisfy the domicile rules specified below -

Domicile Rule 1: The candidate must be a permanent resident of the Gujarat state. 

Domicile Rule 2: The candidate must have completed his/ her Class 10th & 12th from Gujarat Board. Candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th from the CBSE board are also eligible for the entrance exam. However, he/ she must have studied in a school located in Gujarat state.

Domicile Rule 3: The candidates who have studied Class 10th & 12th from schools located in Dadra Nagar & Haveli, Daman & Diu are also eligible for the entrance exam. However, the candidate's parents should be of Gujarat origin.

Domicile Rule 4: The candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th from ICSE/ ISE board from any of the schools located in Gujarat are also eligible for the entrance exam.

Domicile Rule 5: Candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible for GUJCET. However, the study center of the candidates must be located in Gujarat state only.

Educational Qualification Required for GUJCET 2022

Apart from the domicile rules, the candidates need to satisfy the educational qualification as specified below to be eligible for the entrance exam -

  • The candidate must have passed Class 12 with PCM/ PCB stream.
  • The candidates must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% of marks. 
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories and PH category will have 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories can apply for GUJCET 2022 under reservation policy. While reporting for the counselling, all the candidates who have been allotted seats through reservation will have to produce their category certificates. Candidates will be able to get admission through the unreserved seat in case, a reserved category candidate is allotted in an unreserved seat as per their rank. Dear Student,

No, you are not eligible for the GUJCET home state quota. For the home state quota, the candidate must have completed his/ her Class 10th & 12th from Gujarat Board. Candidates who have passed Class 10th & 12th from the CBSE board are eligible for the entrance exam. However, he/ she must have studied in a school located in Gujarat state as the domicile rule.
