UPSEE 2020 Inter-se-Merit System

The UPSEE 2020 inter-se-merit system is a procedure that helps candidates to get their merit position in the merit list. This system is generally done for the candidates scoring similar marks in the exam. Three different parameters are taken into consideration for the extraction of the ones with a higher rank. Based on these parameters the exam conducting authority will evaluate the details of the candidates and then declare the name of the candidates with a higher rank. These factors include the evaluation of the number of incorrect answers, the age of the test taker and the date of filing of the application form.

The determining factors are as under:

  • The test takers with a lesser number of incorrect answers will be awarded a higher rank than that of the others.

  • The marks of the selective major subjects of the courses will be considered for determining the higher rank. The table below will denote the subjects marks of which will help in settling with the ranks.

Courses

Subjects to be Considered

B.Tech./B. Tech (Ag. Engg.)/ MCA(Integrated) M Tech (Dual Degree)

Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics and Physics of Paper 1 will be considered along with their age. The higher the age, higher will be the rank.

B.Pharm.

Candidates with higher marks in Biology and Chemistry of Paper 2 will be considered along with their age.

B. Arch.

Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics, Drawing Aptitude & Aesthetics sensitivity of Paper 3 will be considered along with their age.

B.Tech (Bio-Tech)

Same as applicable in B.Pharm/ B.Tech

B Des/BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/ B Voc/ MBA/MBA(Integrated)/MCA/Lateral entry

Ranks will be decided on the basis of the age of the candidates.

Note: The test takers with higher age will be taken into account first and will be awarded a higher rank.

  • If the two above given factors fail in determining the higher rank of two or more candidates with the same marks, then the third parameter adopted will be the application number of the candidates. The one with lower application number will successfully achieve a higher rank than the other/s.
