AP ECET 2020 Counselling Process

The AP ECET 2020 counselling process will be conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur once the AP ECET 2020 results will be announced officially. The AP ECET counselling process for the year 2020 will be conducted in online mode and so will be the AP ECET 2020 seat allotment process, which will follow the 2020 AP ECET counselling process. 

In order to take part in the counselling process for AP ECET 2020, the eligible candidates have to firstly exercise their choice filling option within the stipulated time period. The candidates will be allocated seats in the AP ECET 2020 participating colleges on the basis of the rank they secure, their preference and number of seats available in the Institutes. The AP ECET 2020 counselling process will involve many steps such as online registration, payment of admission fee and completion of verification of documents. 

During the seat allotment process, the candidates can either opt for accepting the seat offered to them or they can wait till the next round for upgradation of seats. The candidates will be able to view the result of the seat allotment process after each round which will be updated on the AP ECET official website.

AP ECET 2020 Detailed Counselling Process

The detailed AP ECET 2020 counselling process will guide the candidates in each step of the AP ECET 2020 counselling process. The detailed counselling process for AP ECET 2020 is divided into the following stages: -

Stage I: Payment of Processing Fee

The very first stage of the AP ECET 2020 counselling process is the payment of the processing fee. The processing fee can be deposited by the candidates only via online mode, i.e credit card, debit card, or through net banking. The candidates have to be ready with their rank and admit card number for submitting the processing fee. Once the processing fee is submitted, the candidates have to note down the reference number generated and a printout of the same to be produced along with the documents during the document verification process.

Stage II: Reporting at The Helpline Centres

The candidates have to report at their respective helpline centres and must carry the AP ECET 2020 rank card along with them. Thereafter, the candidates will be asked to fill up the Registration-cum-verification form where they have to enter details such as rank, admit card/hall ticket number etc. Next, the candidates will be called up to produce their documents for the purpose of verification. 

Stage III: Certificates/Documents Verification

At the helpline centres, the candidates after submitting their AP ECET 2020 rank card and registration-cum-verification form, have to produce all the requisite documents and certificates for verification. Candidates belonging to reserved categories such as ST, SC or BC have to submit their caste certificate whereas general or open category candidates have to report directly to the Certificate Verification Officer (CVO). Before leaving the counselling hall premises, the candidates must not forget to collect the manual option form which will prove its effectiveness in the subsequent stages of the AP ECET 2020 counselling process.

Stage IV: Password Generation & Option Entry

At this stage of the counselling process, the candidates will be required to click on the “Candidate Registration” tab which will take the candidates to a new page where they have to enter all the necessary details in the given text boxes. Also, in this step, the candidates have to mention their options.

Stage V: Final Seat Allotment

To download the seat allotment order, the candidates have to visit the official AP ECET website and log in through the “Candidate Login” page. All the factors are taken into consideration for the preparation of the seat allotment order and the allotment will be done on the basis of the same. 

What is AP ECET Spot Counselling Round?

AP ECET spot counselling round will be conducted by the authorities for the vacant seats after the conclusion of the AP ECET 2020 counselling process. The number of vacant seats will be uploaded on the official website and the candidates have to register themselves to be considered for the AP ECET spot counselling round.

Documents to be Produced During the AP ECET 2020 Counselling Process

The following documents have to be produced by the candidates during the AP ECET 2020 counselling process, failing to do so will encourage cancellation of the candidates’ candidature:

  • The Admit Card for AP ECET 2020

  • AP ECET 2020 Rank Card

  • Qualification Certificate (Class X, XII or Diploma)

  • Caste Certificate (If Applicable)

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Character Certificate

How Will be the Diploma Holders Given Admissions?

While giving admissions to diploma holders into various courses, the following order of preference shall be followed:


Degree Programme the Candidates Seeking Admission Into



Information Technology & Computer Science

  • Seats will be distributed on priority to those candidates with a diploma in Information Technology & Computer Science

  • The vacant seats will be filled by those candidates who have a Diploma in any Engineering/Technology branch based on their Integrated Merit Ranking


Textile Technology

Candidates with a Diploma in 

  • Textile Technology (Design & Manufacturing)

  • Textile Technology (Knitting) 

Will be given admission provided they had cleared their class Xth examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects



  • Candidates with a Diploma in Biotechnology will be preferred

  • Further, the vacant seats will be filled by those candidates with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Pharmacy


  • Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

  • Instrumentation Engineering

  • Instrumentation Control Engineering

  • Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

  • Candidates must hold a diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering/ Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

  • The diploma holders have to appear in the AP ECET (FDH) examination only in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
