CLAT 2026 Exam Centres

The CLAT exam centres list is provided by the Consortium along with the notification for the entrance examination. CLAT 2026 will be held on December 7, 2025, in more than 60 cities in India. The CLAT 2026 application process will begin on August 1, 2025. While filling out the CLAT online application, you can select your preferred exam centres. Based on availability and the choices given, the conducting body will allocate the exam centre. CLAT scores will be accepted by the participating colleges across the country to grant admission to the 5-year LLB and LLM courses.

CLAT 2026 Exam Centres: Important Instructions

Some of the important instructions that need to be followed at CLAT 2026 exam centres are mentioned below.

  • Candidates should mention their CLAT 2026 test centre preferences correctly while filling out the CLAT 2026 application form.
  • Candidates must carry their CLAT 2026 admit card, recent photograph, valid idIDroof etc. Candidates are not allowed to enter the exam centre without these documents.
  • Candidates should reach the exam centre an hour before the commencement of the CLAT 2026 entrance exam.

How to Change CLAT 2026 Exam Centre

To update their CLAT 2026 exam centre preferences, candidates will have to follow the steps mentioned below.

  • The applicant will have to visit the official website of CLAT.
  • You will have to log into the CLAT account by using the username and password.
  • The option to update the details will be available by clicking on the 'Edit Application' button.
  • After clicking on that, you will have to go to the 'Preferences' tab.
  • Here, you can update the 3 test centre preferences as required.
  • Before logging out, the applicant must go through other details and verify all the entered data as no changes will be allowed after this.
  • The candidate can click on the 'Next' button and save the updated preferences.

Documents Required at the CLAT 2026 Exam Centre

The applicant is required to carry one of the valid photo ID proofs mentioned below along with the CLAT admit card 2026.

  • Driving License

  • PAN Card 

  • Voter’s ID Card

  • Passport

  • Photo ID proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with a photograph

  • Bank Passbook with a photograph

  • Valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognised College/ University

  • Photo ID proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead along with a photograph

  • Aadhar card with a photograph/ Employee ID/  Bar Council Identity Card

CLAT 2026 Exam Day Instructions

Listed below are the points which the candidates must keep in mind for the CLAT 2026 exam day.

  • The venue is assigned to the candidate on the admit card and as per the availability of the exam centre. 

  • Candidates falling under the Specially Abled Persons (SAP) category will be offered 40 minutes extra time for exam completion.

  • Carry all the necessary documents, along with the hall ticket, as entry into the exam centre will be prohibited without it.

  • Reporting at least one hour before the exam is an ideal situation, as that can avoid unnecessary chaos.

  • Carrying electronic devices or paper chips can lead to disqualification from the exam. It should be completely avoided.

  • No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall half an hour before the commencement of the examination.

Candidates using Scribe in CLAT 2026

Candidates who require a scribe during the examination must specify that in their CLAT 2026 application form while registering. Along with that, photocopies of relevant documents must also be uploaded.

Mentioned below is the list of documents and statements to be uploaded if requiring a scribe.

  • First, to use a scribe, a Disability Certificate is required, signed by the competent authority.
  • Secondly, a statement mentioning that the candidates will be bringing a scribe or if the CLAT authorities will be providing one should be uploaded.
  • Thirdly, if the candidate arranges for a scribe he/she must sign a declaration stating that he/she will follow all laws and regulations and will not engage in any form of unethical behaviour. The scribe would only help in reading the question and marking the answer and not in helping the candidate to answer.

Can I request a change of room or seating at the centre?

No. Candidates must sit only at the assigned seat/room provided by the invigilators. Any movement is allowed only with permission.

Can I change my CLAT exam centre after submitting the application form?

No. Once the application is submitted and the correction window is closed, the exam centre cannot be changed.

Can I choose my preferred CLAT exam centre?

Yes. While filling out the CLAT application form, you can select up to 3 test centre preferences in order of priority.
