How to Apply for CTET 2018

Before you read 'How to Apply for CTET 2018', you must go through the modified CTET 2018 eligibility criteria. As per the new changes introduced by CBSE, those who have a B.Ed degree with 50% marks can apply to appear for both CTET Paper I & II. Those who have successfully applied for Paper I can now apply to take Paper II as well. To do so, they will have to make some modifications in their application forms during the application correction window of September 6 to 15, 2018.

Candidates can apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test online by visiting CTET's official website. To apply online for CTET 2018, it is important that candidates are aware of all the requirements related to the CTET 2018 application process. Before applying online, candidates should ensure that they have the following documents/files ready:

  • Scanned image of latest Photograph and Signature in JPG format only, for uploading.

  • A scanned copy of Educational Certificates.

Step by Step Application Process of CTET 2018

Candidate Registration

You have to apply online through the CTET website.

Registration by Filling Online Application Form

  • Filling up of personal details: Candidate should fill his/her Name, Mother’s name and Father’s name, as recorded in the Class X Secondary Board Certificate, in CAPITAL letters. Mention Date of Birth as recorded in the Class X Secondary Board Certificate.

  • Choice of Examination Centres

  • Languages offered for CTET

  • Question Paper Medium

  • Unique Aadhar No (Optional)

  • Gender Select: Gender male and female

  • Category: Select category from General, SC, ST, and OBC

  • Status of qualifying exam: Select the status from the drop-down menu box. If qualified, select ‘Passed’ else select ‘Appearing’ in the final exam.

  • Employment Status

  • Applying for

  • College/educational institution

  • Address

  • Mobile No

  • E-mail Id

  • Security Pin.

Uploading of Photograph and Signature

Candidates have to upload Image and Signature as per the dimension and format are given below:

  • The scanned images of the latest Photographs and Signature should be in jpg format.

  • Size of the photo image must be greater than 4 kb and less than 100 kb.

  • Size of the Signature image must be greater than 1 kb and less than 25 kb.

  • Image dimension of Photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) * 4.5 cm (Height) only.

  • Image dimension of Signature should be 3.5 cm (length) * 1.5 cm (Height) only.

Payment of Application

The application fee can be paid through online and offline mode.

  • Remittance through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET exam fee account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.

  • By Debit/Credit Card.

Printing of the Confirmation Page

  • The candidate should fill all the details while filling up the online application carefully.

  • After depositing fee in Bank, candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated confirmation page after successful submission of data (if fees paid through Challan) and keep it for the record and future reference, if required.

  • Candidates can choose to make payment through Debit/Credit Card using online gateway payment facility, or via E-challan by downloading E-challan form from CTET official website.
  • If a candidate decides to pay the fee through Debit/Credit Card, then he/she must check the validity of the card and keep it handy.

  • If a candidate decides to pay through E-challan, he/she will have to download E-challan after completing Part-II of registration and deposit the fee in CTET exam fee A/C with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.

  • Once the payment has been confirmed, a confirmation page will be generated.

  • The candidates are not required to send hard copy of the confirmation page to CTET unit. However, the candidates are advised to retain the hard copy of the application i.e. Confirmation page, challan if the fee is paid by E-challan, for future reference. 


1. Before filling the CTET application form, do I need to register first?

Candidates need to register with their E-mail ID and Phone number before filling the application form in online mode and then candidates will be given a registration number.

2. Is it mandatory to pay any fee at the time of filling the application form?

At the time of filling the application form, candidates are required to pay the application fee.

3. I need to make corrections in my application form. How can I make it?

To make corrections in the application form, candidates will be required to log in on the official website of CTET and make the required corrections.
