The eligibility criteria for GAT B & BET 2023 is very significant and the candidates must check the eligibility criteria of individual participating colleges/universities before applying for GAT B/ BET 2023 exam. The candidates must note that those who are appearing in the final year exam of the qualifying degree are also eligible to fill the form. Some of the common GAT B /BET 2023 eligibility criteria that are required by all the participating institutions are mentioned below.
Nationality: Only bonafide Indian nationals are allowed to appear in the examination.
Educational Qualification: Candidates having a valid Bachelors (BE/ BTech/MBBS) and Masters (MSc/ MTech/ MVSc/MPharm/Integrated MSc/ MTech) in any discipline of Biotechnology, Life Sciences such as Biomedical, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Botany, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, Genetics, or any other allied fields of Biology/Life-Sciences are eligible for taking admission through GAT-B & BET 2023 exam. For taking admission through GAT-B in different postgraduate courses in the participating universities, candidates must have completed their Bachelors in the relevant stream from a recognised university with a minimum of 55 % marks.
Minimum Marks: Candidates representing General, EWS & OBC category must score at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade and 55% marks are required by those representing SC/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates in aggregate.
Age Criteria: For BET 2023 exam, maximum 28 years of age for General and EWS category. There is age relaxation for SC/ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and the upper age criterion for them are 33 years and 31 years for those representing OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. There is no age restriction for the GAT-B exam.
