National Testing Agency will release the GAT-B & BET result online. The candidates who appeared in the GAT-B & BET 2023 exam will be able to download the GAT B and BET results 2023. Both GAT- B and BET Results will be released in the form of a scorecard. The direct link will be provided as soon as the results of GAT- B, and BET are out.

Benefits and Scope after Clearing GAT-B

GAT-B and BET 2023 provision answer key was released on May 19, 2023. The last date to raise concerns against the provisions answer key was May 20, 2023. GAT-B & BET 2023 exam is successfully conducted on 13 May 2023.

GAT-B & BET exam is conducted once a year to grant admission in DBT-supported PG programmes such as MSc Biotechnology, MSc Agricultural Biotechnology, MVSc, MTech Biotechnology, and MSc in allied areas. Almost 1,221 seats are available in 34 participating institutes that offer admission in DBT-supported PG courses through GATE-B. What is the GAT-B & BET Exam?

Graduate Aptitude Test - Biotechnology (GAT-B) & Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is an all-India entrance test conducted annually to offer admissions to different courses in the department of biotechnology. The candidates through GAT-B & BET 2023 exam will be selected for Junior Research Fellowship. GAT B test is conducted for granting admission to Department of Biotechnology supported Postgraduate programs in Biotechnology and allied areas in the participating institutions. The examination for GAT-B/BET 2023 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

GAT B & BET 2023 Application Form

The candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as required by different participating institutions can apply for GAT B & BET 2023. The mode of application form of GAT-B will be online. The candidates also must ensure that they fill out only one application form for GAT-B & BET 2023 entrance exam. If any candidates submit more than one application form, then their form will be rejected. They must keep the following mentioned documents ready before filling the GAT B/ BET 2023 application form. The list of important items for filling the application form is given below: 

  • A computer with internet connection
  • A valid government ID proof
  • Email ID and Mobile number
  • Specific Government ID details like Aadhar Card Number (last 4 digits)/ Passport number/ PAN Number/ Election Card/ Ration Card Number/  Bank Account details
  • Details of Educational qualification 
  • Scanned copy of photograph
  • Scanned copy of signature
  • Scanned copy of class X or equivalent Certificate as a proof of Date of Birth.
  • Scanned copy of Certificate for Appearing/Result Awaiting Candidates.
  • Four choice of exam centres
  • Bank account details for making payment of fee

Once the documents are in place, the candidates can follow the steps mentioned below for filling the application form without making any mistakes. 

Step-1: First of all, candidates are required to register for NTA GAT B & BET 2023 using their mobile number and email ID. One must note down your system generated application number after registration.

Step-2:  The candidates must fill the application form and enter their personal details as required in the application form. 

Step-3: Must upload scan copy of the following documents as per the required specifications:

  • Recent passport size photograph in jpg/jpeg 10KB-200KB either in black & white or colour
  • Candidate’s signature 4kb – 30kb
  • PwD certificate 50 kb-300 kb
  • Category certificate 50 kb-300 kb
  • Proof of Date of Birth 50 kb-300 kb
  • Certificate for Appearing/Result Awaiting Candidates 50 kb-300 kb

Step 4: After filling the application form successfully, the candidates must make payment of application fee using Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI, etc to complete the application process. 

Step 5: One must download the confirmation page and take printout of the same.

GAT B & BET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for GAT B & BET 2023 is very significant and the candidates must check the eligibility criteria of individual participating colleges/universities before applying for GAT B/ BET 2023 exam. The candidates must note that those who are appearing in the final year exam of the qualifying degree are also eligible to fill the form. Some of the common GAT B /BET 2023 eligibility criteria that are required by all the participating institutions are mentioned below. 

Nationality: Only bonafide Indian nationals are allowed to appear in the examination. 

Educational Qualification: Candidates having a valid Bachelors (BE/ BTech/MBBS) and Masters (MSc/ MTech/ MVSc/MPharm/Integrated MSc/ MTech) in any discipline of Biotechnology, Life Sciences such as Biomedical, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Botany, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, Genetics,  or any other allied fields of Biology/Life-Sciences are eligible for taking admission through GAT-B & BET 2023 exam. For taking admission through GAT-B in different postgraduate courses in the participating universities, candidates must have completed their Bachelors in the relevant stream from a recognised university with a minimum of 55 % marks. 

Minimum Marks: Candidates representing General, EWS & OBC category must score at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade and 55% marks are required by those representing SC/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates in aggregate. 

Age Criteria: For BET 2023 exam, maximum 28 years of age for General and EWS category. There is age relaxation for SC/ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and the upper age criterion for them are 33 years and 31 years for those representing OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. There is no age restriction for the GAT-B exam.

GAT- B & BET 2023 Exam Pattern

The candidates appearing for GAT-B & BET 2023 exam must know about the basic details of exam pattern so that they are able to perform well and qualify the examination. The exam pattern differs for both GAT B and BET 2023 exam. They must take care of negative markings associated with both the examinations. The entrance exam for both GAT B and BET 2023 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and English will be the language of examination for both GAT B and BET 2023.

GAT B and BET 2023 Exam Marking Scheme

The students must take care of the marking scheme for GAT-B & BET 2023 examinations if they want to perform well and qualify the entrance examination. 

Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2023

Section A: Each correct answer is of One (1) mark. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, half (1/2 or 0.5) mark will be deducted.  

Section B: Each correct answer is of Three (3) marks. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, One (1) mark will be deducted.

Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2023

Section-A- Each question carries 03 (Three) marks. There will be negative marking and for each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total marks. Un-answered/un-attempted will be given Zero (0) marks. 

Section-B- Each question carries 03 (Three) marks. There will be negative marking and for each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total marks.

GAT B & BET 2023 Admit Card

The National Testing Agency issues GAT B & BET 2023 Admit Card to candidates who have completed the application process successfully. The admit card carries all important details such as name of the candidate, roll number, examination centre and timing of the GAT-B & BET 2023. It is mandatory to carry an admit card on the day of the examination otherwise the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the examination. In case any candidate is not able to download your admit card then they need to contact NTA helpline or write to NTA at dbt@nta.ac.in.

GAT-B 2023 Syllabus

GAT- B and BET 2023 syllabus will be released by NTA. The GAT-B syllabus will help in preparing for the exam and scoring good marks in order to clear the exam. The GAT-B & BET 2023 is divided into two parts Part A and Part B. Candidates can check the GAT B syllabus below:

GAT-B 2023 & BET Exam Preparation Tips

Candidates must check the preparation tips for both the exams so that they can score good marks in GAT-B & BET Exam 2023.

  • Candidates must go through the GAT-B & BET 2023
  • They must make a note of all the important topics that can come in the exam.
  • Important topics must be given a higher priority and read them thoroughly.
  • Read newspapers daily in order to be updated with the latest news.
  • Frame a  timetable and adhere to it and try to cover each topic everyday and read at least 3-4 hours every day.
  • Solve GAT-B  & BET Previous Year Question Papers as it helps a lot to  analyze the kind of questions that can come in the exam.

GAT-B 2023 Answer Key

NTA will release the GAT-B & BET 2023 answer key after the exam. Candidates will be allowed to raise the challenge with the GAT-B answer key & BET answer key. To raise the challenge, candidates will require to pay the Rs. 200 fee per question. This fee is a non-refundable processing fee which is a compulsory fee. 

NTA GAT B & BET 2023 Result

The National Testing Agency releases GAT B & BET 2023 results after the final answer key is out. The authority will not send score cards to candidates separately. Candidates are instructed to download their scorecard at the official website of GAT-B 2023 and BET 2023 dbt.nta.ac.in.

GAT-B Exam Centers and Cities

When submitting the online application, candidates must pick four cities of their choice. The city of a candidate's choice will be considered when allocating a Centre of Examination. In any case, due to logistic and administrative reasons, he/she may be assigned an exam center in a different city or nearby area. Once selected and assigned, the examination center cannot be changed (after the correction window has closed). Any requests in this regard will be ignored.
