Graduate Aptitude Test of Biotechnology (GAT-B) is an All-India Entrance Examination to test the eligibility of Indian nationals for admissions to DBT-supported Post Graduate programmes in Biotechnology and allied areas, at Participating Institutions/Universities in India. DBT supported Post Graduate programmes include M.Sc. Biotechnology and allied areas; M.Tech. Biotechnology and allied areas; M.Sc. Agricultural Biotechnology and M.V.Sc. Animal Biotechnology. 

Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is the national qualifying examination for the award of Doctoral Research Fellowships under the DBT-Junior Research Fellowship (DBTJRF) Programme. BET is an All-India computer-based examination which is held once every year. These fellowships are tenable at any recognized university/institution in India where the selected fellow registers for the PhD programme.

The GAT-B & BET 2024 exam eligibility criteria isrequirements very important and candidates should confirm their eligibility with each participating college or university before submitting an application. Candidates should keep in mind that those who are in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to fill out the GAT-B & BET 2024 application form. Following are some of the common GAT B 2024 eligibility criteria that are required by all participating institutions.

Nationality: Only bonafide Indian nationals are allowed to appear in the GAT-B & BET 2024 exam.

Educational Qualification: Candidates having a valid Bachelors (BE/ BTech/MBBS) and Masters (MSc/ MTech/ MVSc/MPharm/Integrated MSc/ MTech) in any discipline of Biotechnology, Life Sciences such as Biomedical, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Botany, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry, Genetics,  or any other allied fields of Biology/Life-Sciences are eligible for taking admission through GAT-B & BET 2024 exam. For taking admission through GAT-B in different postgraduate courses in the participating universities, candidates must have completed their Bachelors in the relevant stream from a recognised university with a minimum of 55 % marks. 

Candidates who have taken or will take their qualifying degree's final examination are eligible to apply for the GAT-B 2024 exam in the result awaited (RA) category. Such a candidate must submit an Undertaking/Attestation Form certified/stamped by the Head of the Institute (with address and name) where they are pursuing their qualifying degree. Failure to follow this instruction will result in the rejection of the GAT-B & BET 2024 applications.

Minimum Marks: Candidates representing General, EWS & OBC category must score at least 60% marks or its equivalent grade and 55% marks are required by those representing SC/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates in aggregate. 

Age Criteria: For BET 2024 exam, maximum 28 years of age for General and EWS category. There is age relaxation for SC/ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and the upper age criterion for them are 33 years and 31 years for those representing OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. There is no age restriction for the GAT-B 2024 exam.

Candidates taking the GAT-B & BET 2024 exam must be familiar with the basic details of the GAT- B 2024 exam pattern in order to perform well and pass the exam. The GAT B and BET 2024 exams have different exam patterns. They must address the negative markings associated with both examinations. The entrance exams for both GAT B and BET 2024 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, with English as the language of examination.

The students must take care of the marking scheme for GAT-B & BET 2024 exam if they want to perform well and qualify the entrance examination. 

Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2024

• Section A: Each correct answer is of One (1) mark. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, half (1/2 or 0.5) mark will be deducted.  
• Section B: Each correct answer is of Three (3) marks. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, One (1) mark will be deducted.

Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2024

• Section-A- Each question carries 03 (Three) marks. There will be negative marking and for each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total marks. Un-answered/un-attempted will be given Zero (0) marks. 
• Section-B- Each question carries 03 (Three) marks. There will be negative marking and for each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total marks.

The National Testing Agency has issued GAT-B 2024 Admit Card to candidates who have completed the application process successfully. The GAT-B & BET 2024 admit card contains all of the important information, such as the candidate's name, roll number, examination centre, and exam time. Candidates must bring their admit card to the GAT-B & BET 2024 exams or they will be unable to participate. The NTA will release the GAT-B & BET 2024 answer key following the exam. The GAT B 2024 answer key allows candidates to tally their answers and estimate their score. The answer key for the GAT-B & BET 2024 exams can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates will be able to raise the challenge using the GAT-B 2024 answer key and BET 2024 answer key. Candidates can use this to match answers shortly after the exam to get an idea of how you performed on the National Testing Agency's test. On the other hand, the NTA's GAT B / BET Official Answer Key refers to the exam's official answers. This is useful for determining actual marks for the GAT B / BET 2024 results. To participate in the challenge, candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 200 per question. This fee is a non-refundable processing fee that is required.

The National Testing Agency releases GAT B & BET result 2024 after the final answer key is out. The NTA GAT-B & BET 2024 result will be diplayed on the officieal wrebsite. The authority will not send score cards to candidates separately. Applicants who have been declared qualified based on the GAT-B 2024 results will be contacted for admission and counselling later. Along with the announcement of the GAT-B results 2024, the NTA will also publish the merit list on its official website. The GAT-B result includes the candidate's personal information, qualifying status, marks obtained, overall rank, and other details. Applicants are advised to keep the GAT-B 2024 result scorecard safe until the admission process is completed. Candidates are instructed to download their scorecard at the official website of GAT-B & BET 2024 dbt.nta.ac.in.

When filling out the GAT B & BET 2024 online application, candidates must select four cities. When allocating a Centre of Examination, the candidate's preferred city will be considered. In any case, due to logistical and administrative considerations, he or she may be assigned an exam centre in another city or nearby area. The examination centre cannot be changed once selected and assigned (after the correction window has closed). Requests in this regard will be ignored.
