IBSAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The IBSAT 2020 eligibility criteria have been prescribed by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, which is the conducting body of the exam. To become eligible to apply for the exam, Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate is a must. The degree could be in any discipline from a recognised university. Candidates who wish to pursue an MBA from IBS must fulfil the eligibility criteria of IBSAT. Before filling the IBSAT application form, candidates must check the IBSAT eligibility criteria and other details related to the exam.

IBSAT application process 2020 is expected to begin in July and will carry on until December 2020. The examination will tentatively be scheduled to be conducted in December 2020. It is important for all the candidates to ensure that the information submitted by them is accurate in order to avoid disqualification.

IBSAT 2020 Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • For two-year Management programme, a minimum of 15 years of education (on 10+2+3 or 10+2+4) must be completed.

  • For the PhD programme, a minimum of 17 years of regular education must be completed.

  • There is no upper age limit to apply for the exam.

IBSAT Eligibility as per Programme:

Two-year Management Programme (MBA/PGPM):

  • The candidate who has a graduation degree (any discipline) with 50% marks or above with medium of instruction as English.

  • The candidate has to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score by May 31, 2020, if he/she does not meet the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation.

  • Candidates who are in their bachelor’s degree course's final year are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements before May 31, 2020. The admission will remain provisional until they produce marks sheets and degree certificates. The last date for submission of proof of graduation is November 1, 2020.

  • Candidates' eligibility will be checked from August 2020 onwards. Hence, the responsibility of ensuring that they satisfy the eligibility criteria rests solely with the candidates.

Ph.D. Programme:

Ph.D. Programme in Management (Full-time/Part-time):

  • Candidates who have completed their graduation in any discipline with 50% marks or above with medium of instruction as English.

  • Post Graduation in Management as a full-time course from a University recognised by UGC with 55% and above marks or

  • Post Graduation (full-time) in Economics, Commerce, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Statistics, Mathematics or in an allied discipline from a recognised University in India or abroad with 55% marks or above.

  • A Professional qualification like CFA/CA/CWA/CS with 55% marks or above.

Ph.D. Programme in Economics (Full-time)

  • Candidates who have completed their Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks or above and Post graduation in Economics or allied discipline with 55% marks or above.

Note:

  • Candidates who have completed their graduation/ post graduation in one-time sitting basis or on part-time, distance mode or online mode will not be eligible for the Ph.D. programme of IBS Hyderabad.

  • Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation and/ or master's degree will be required to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score by May 31, 2020.

  • Candidates' eligibility will be examined from August 2020 onwards. Hence, the onus of ensuring that they satisfy the eligibility criteria rests solely with the candidates.

Exemption from IBSAT 2020:

  • Candidates who have a GMAT/NMAT by GMAC/CAT scores will be exempted from taking IBSAT. They will be directly called for the selection rounds i.e. GD/PI.

IBSAT 2020 Reservation Policy

According to the organising body, there is no defined IBSAT Reservation Criteria/ Policy for reserved categories(SC/ST/OBC/PwD). There is also no fixed pattern followed for IBSAT seat allotment. In short, qualifying IBSAT does not guarantee any seat reservations for reserved category.

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria for Reserved Categories:

  • The total marks for each category are similar, so the reserved category candidates also have to secure the same marks as the General category candidate.

  • The minimum marks required for IBSAT 2020 is 50% for MBA/PGPM programme.

  • Each candidate is treated equally and therefore, there is no prior reservation of seats for reserved category candidates.

  • The application fee is also the same for all the categories. There is no exemption in the application fee for reserved categories.

  • All the candidates need to meet the mandatory qualification requirements to get admission in any IBS college.
