JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will organise the JEE Advanced Counselling from the month of June to July. Candidates can get admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad through the centralised counselling and seat allotment process by JoSAA. The counselling process includes registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment process, reporting to allotted colleges.

Candidates must register their roll number (mentioned in JEE Advanced 2019 Admit Card) and also Registration Number, Date of Birth and password.
Choice Filling and Locking:
Candidates will have to fill the choice of programmes and branches as per their preferences before the last date.
Candidates can change/ modify/ delete/ add new choices before the final locking of the choices.
If the candidates forget to lock the choices, it will be automatically locked by default.
Candidates are advised to fill and lock as many choices as possible for the programmes.
Counselling and seat allotment will be purely done on the basis of candidates' JEE Advanced 2018 All India Ranks (AIR).
Seat Allotment Process:
The seats across IITs, NITs, IIITs and other Govt. Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) will be allocated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
The schedule of the joint seat allocation will be announced separately by JoSAA.
JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment will be done in 7 rounds.
At the end of every round or counselling/ seat allotment process, the candidates must check the seat allotment result.
During the seat allotment process, candidates must get the soft copy of their category certificates such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ NCL verified.
In order to provisionally book/freeze their allotted seats after the allotment process has done, the candidates will have to pay the necessary fees online.
Qualifying in JEE Advanced, filling up choices and/or participating in the seat allocation process does not guarantee admission in IITs. Admission also depends on various factors including the number of vacant seats during various rounds of seat allocation.
