KCET 2020 Results

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2019 results will be announced in the month of May 2020 by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Candidates must note that the result shall be declared for all the candidates who have taken the entrance examination. The result of KCET 2020 will be declared on the official website of KEA that is kea.kar.nic.in.In order to view the KCET 2020 scores, candidates will have to provide their Registration number. KCET 2020 result will display the overall scores and ranks scored by the qualified candidates in the entrance exam.

The KCET 2020 result will display the overall performance of the candidates in the entrance examination and will also have details like the candidate’s rank, subject-wise scores and total scores obtained by the candidates etc. The qualified candidates of the state engineering entrance test can view and download their KCET 2020 scores. On the basis of the scores/rank in KCET 2020, candidates will be called for the counselling procedure, and seat allotment will be done for admission into various engineering programmes.

Once after the KCET 2020 result is released, a separate merit list shall be released for all the courses and along with the result, the final answer key and the list of all those candidates whose results have been withheld along with the reason shall also be displayed on the official website of KEA.

How to Check KCET 2020 Result

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to access their KCET 2020 result:

  • Visit the official website and click on the link available to access KCET Result 2020.

  • Provide details like Registration number, etc, and click on 'Submit'.

  • After providing the details, KCET 2020 scorecard will appear on the screen, which will include the overall and subject-wise marks scored by the candidates.

  • Download and save the KCET 2020 scorecard and take a printout for future references.

KCET 2020 scorecard will contain the following details:

  • Total marks obtained by the candidate

  • Details of sectional cut off

  • Section names

  • Sectional score of the candidates.

Calculation of KCET 2020 Result

By following the steps given below, candidates can calculate their ranks in the entrance examination:

  • In order to calculate the merit order in the merit list of KCET 2019, the final answer key of KCET 2019 is used during evaluation.

  • The separate result sheets reflecting the engineering ranks will be published as per the date announced for it.

  • The ranks will be given to the candidates as per their merit list declared by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Tie-Breaking Policy of KCET 2020

In a case where two or more candidates obtain the same marks in the entrance examination, then in such a case, a tie-breaker criterion will be implied. Candidates can take a look at the below table to know about the tie-breaking policy of KCET 2020.

Tie Breaker Criteria for B.Arch

  • If the score of the candidates in NATA are equal then the merit is determined on the basis of marks secured in Mathematics in the Qualifying exam.

  • If the tie is still there, then the age is considered and the elder candidate gets the higher rank.

Tie Breaker Criteria for B.Tech and Other Courses

  • Firstly, the marks in Biology / Mathematics shall be taken into consideration. 

 
  • If the tie still persists, then the marks of the candidates in Chemistry / Physics will be used.

  • The tie is not broken even after this, then the marks in respective subjects in the Qualifying examination will be used.

 
  • As a last resort, the age of the candidates will be considered. The elder candidate will be allocated higher rank.

Merit by Draw of Lots:

  • If the above-mentioned ways to break the tie fails, KEA will use the draw of lots method.

  • According to this, the merit list shall be allocated by draw which will be purely on luck basis.

KCET Merit List 2020

KCET 2020 merit list will be released on the official website after the declaration of KCET result. The merit list of the candidates will be based on the marks/rank scored by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.

KCET merit list 2020 will contain the names of all the qualified candidates in KCET 2020 and on the basis of KCET merit list 2020, candidates will be invited to participate in KCET 2020 counselling process for seat allotment purposes.

Some of the important facts that candidates must know about KCET 2020 result are as follows:

  • Candidates are advisable to cross-verify the code mentioned on the question paper. They are also advised to check whether the KCET 2019 result reflects any changes in the qualifying marks. 

  • The KCET result 2019 will only be declared in online mode for the candidates. The result will not be sent via post or any other offline methods. 

  • In case, a candidate has any doubts regarding the result of KCET 2019, he/she may also challenge the result within the stipulated time frame.

How to Challenge the KCET 2020 Result?

KEA provides a  facility to the candidates they can challenge the result of KCET 2020 and submit their objections in case they find an error in the result. By following the steps given below, candidates can challenge the result of KCET 2020:

  • Within three days of the result declaration of KCET, candidates can challenge the result of KCET by informing the concerned authorities.

  • In order to challenge the KCET 2019 result, candidates will have to cross-verify their qualifying marks on the result sheet and in case of any discrepancies, candidates will have to contact the KEA authorities and get their discrepancy resolved.

  • After considering all the objections, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will release the final result which will be declared later.

Post Result Declaration of KCET 2020

Once after the result of KCET 2020 is released, the candidates who will qualify the entrance examination will be called for the counselling and seat allocation process on the basis of their result. As a part of the process, the candidates will have to verify their documents at the counselling center. The candidates will also be required to fill and lock their choices of courses and colleges as per their preferences. On the basis of the ranks secured by the candidates along with the selected preferences and availability of seats, the seats will be allotted to the candidates.
