WBJEE 2026 GMR will be prepared based on the marks secured in paper I & paper II. While preparing the General WBJEE 2026 merit list, the authority will rank the students in descending order of the total marks secured in all the subjects. • Based on the WBJEE General merit list 2026, you will be offered admission into Architecture, Engineering, Pharmacy, and Technology courses in the government and private colleges across West Bengal. 
• The name of the highest scorer in the WBJEE 2026 exam will be at the top of the WBJEE General Merit List 2026, while the name of the student who has the least marks in the exam will be at the bottom. 
• The tie-breaking rules will be applied in case two or more students end up with the same score
• The category-wise GMR merit list will be issued for General, SC/ST, OBC, EWS, and other reserved categories.
• The counseling process and the seat allotment process will only be conducted based on the WBJEE 2026 General Merit List (GMR).

Pharmacy WBJEE 2026 Merit List

The Pharmacy WBJEE 2026 Merit list will be prepared based on the scores secured in paper-II, ie, Physics and Chemistry. The ranking system in WBJEE PMR will be just like as GMR, ie, in the descending order of the total marks secured in Paper II. Know more details about WBJEE PMR from the points mentioned below:-

• Admission in all the Pharmacy courses, except for Jadavpur University, will be offered based on PMR.
• Seat allotment will be based on PMR and not on category ranks.
• The category-wise GMR merit list will be issued for General, SC/ST, OBC, EWS, and other reserved categories.

WBJEE 2026 Merit List Tie-Breaking Policy

In case two or more students get the same score in the WBJEE exam 2026, the WBJEEB will implement the tie-breaking policy to avoid a tie in the merit list. We have explained the WBJEE 2026 tie-breaking policy for the General Merit Rank List in the following section.  

• Students with lesser collective negative marks in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics will be given a higher rank.

• If the tie still exists, the student with the highest collective positive marks in Physics and Mathematics will be given priority.

• If the tie is still not broken, then the student with the highest collective positive marks in Chemistry and Mathematics will be given higher priority.

• If the tie still exists, then the student with the lesser collective negative marks in Physics and Mathematics will be ranked higher.

• If the tie is yet present, the student with the lesser collective negative marks in Chemistry and Mathematics will be given a higher rank.

• If the tie is ongoing, the student with more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2-mark questions will be allotted a higher rank.

• If the tie still exists, the student with more positive marks in Physics for only the 2-mark questions will be given a higher rank.

• If the tie persists, the student with more positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2-mark questions will be allotted a higher rank.

• If the tie is still not broken, the student with lesser negative marks in Mathematics for only the 2-mark questions will be allotted a higher rank.

• If the tie is ongoing, the student with lesser negative marks in Physics for only the 2-mark questions will be given a higher rank.

How is the WBJEE 2026 Merit List Prepared?

The WBJEEB will consider the following points while preparing the WBJEE 2026 merit list:-

• The WBJEE merit list 2026 will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the WBJEE result.

• The total marks will only be calculated following the resolution of all the disputes raised against the provisional WBJEE answer key.

• The WBJEEB will release a General Merit Rank (GMR) List and a category-wise merit list for reserved students. 

• The merit list will be prepared with the highest marks to lowest marks order.

• The WBJEEB will enforce the tie-breaking policy if two or more students receive the same score.
