MHT-CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

It is imperative for the applicants to satisfy the eligibility criteria for MHT CET 2020 in order to successfully apply for the same. Although there is no maximum age limit for the applicants to be eligible to apply for MHT CET 2020, there are some other eligibility factors that must be checked by the applicants before submitting the application form. 

The MHT CET 2020 eligibility criteria also have some terms and conditions to be fulfilled by those applicants who want to apply under the minority category (religious or linguistic) which states that the applicants must be from the state of Maharashtra only as per the notification released by the Government. The following sections deal with all the eligibility conditions required to successfully apply for MHT CET 2020.

MHT CET 2020 Eligibility For B.Tech/B.E

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.

  • Applicants should have passed HSC (10+2) or its equivalent exam with compulsory Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and should have marks percentage (as notified by the Government from time to time) in these subjects.

  • Applicant should have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology (50% marks for General category and 45% for Backward classes & PwD) and should have Maharashtra domicile. 

  • Candidate should have passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university (50% marks for General category and 45% for Backward classes & PwD) as defined by UGC and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject (Maharashtra domicile)

  •  Students from outside Maharashtra domicile and J&K migrants should have at least taken JEE (Main) Paper I or any other CET conducted by a competent authority

All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu, and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates:

  • Applicant should be a citizen of India.

  • Applicant should have passed HSC(10+2) or its equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as a compulsory subject along with one of the Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical or Vocational subject and should have at least scored required percentage of marks in the above subjects taken together.

For NRI, OCI, PIO, Children of Workers in Gulf Countries:

  • Candidates should have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50 % marks in the above subjects taken together.

MHT CET 2020 Eligibility For First Year Pharmacy

Maharashtra State Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates:

  •  Applicant should be a citizen of India.

  •  Applicant should have passed HSC (10+2) or its equivalent exam with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology and should have obtained at least the required percentage of marks (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.

  • Applicants should have obtained a score in MHT-CET 2020.

MHT CET 2020 Eligibility For Pharma-D First Year

Maharashtra State Candidature and All India Candidature Candidates:

  • Applicant should be a citizen of India.

  • Applicants should have passed HSC(10+2) or its equivalent exam with compulsory subjects Physics and Chemistry with one of the Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology and should have obtained at least required percentage (as notified by the Government from time to time) in the above subjects taken together.

Or

  • Applicant should have passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy from institutes of State Board affiliated and should have an approval of competent central authority and State Government and should have obtained at least the required percentage of marks.

  • Applicants should have at least 50% marks in the MHT-CET 2020.

FAQs

Can aspirants from any other state apply for the upcoming MHT CET entrance exam?
Ans: Only those students who were born in the state of Maharashtra or have a domicile of Maharashtra can apply for MHT CET 2020 exam. In addition to this, students who have passed their previous qualifying exam from any recognised Institution in the state of Maharashtra are also eligible to apply for MHT CET.
Are female candidates eligible to apply for Mining Engineering programme offered by MHT CET participating institutes?
Ans: No, the female candidates cannot apply for Mining engineering programme even though they have achieved the required cutoff score to get into the programme.
Why it is recommended for the J&K candidates to appear in JEE Main exam instead of MHT CET?
Ans: Due to the fact that more preference is given to JEE Main qualified candidates, it is always suggested that the J&K candidates must appear for JEE Main exam and then appear for MHT CET.
What is the eligibility for PwD candidates to apply for MHT CET 2020?
Ans: In addition to the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the MHT CET eligibility criteria page of CollegeDekho, the applicants must be suffering from 40% disability or above to be considered under this category.
