The National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to BSc (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) at colleges affiliated with NCHMCT. This year NCHMCT JEE will be conducted on June 18. The exam is conducted in online mode and more than 30,000 students appear for the exam every year. Only the candidates who satisfy the cutoff of NCHMCT JEE are selected for admission. There has not been any major change in the pattern of NCHMCT JEE exam, so students can expect the number of questions in each section and marks allotted to be the same as that of last year.  As per NCHMCT 2022 exam patter, the paper will be divided into 5 sections, namely, Numerical Ability & Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning & Deductions, and Aptitude for Service Sector. NCHMCT JEE 2021 Exam Analysis 

Last year, NCHMCT JEE was conducted in online mode where students had to answer 200 questions, each carrying 4 marks. The Numerical Ability & Quantitative Aptitude section was the most challenging of the 5 sections for the majority of students. The rest were moderately easy. Most students stated that they could answer around 160-180 questions accurately with ease. Thus, as per the analysis, the overall difficulty level of the NCHMCT JEE 2021 exam was easy to moderate. 

Students also shared having a smooth, glitch-free online test experience. However, only a few faced minor inconveniences, like screen freezing and blacking out, server error, login time expiration, and similar problems while appearing for NCHMCT JEE online exam. There were mixed reactions from the candidates who appear for the NCHMCT JEE exam last year.

The difficulty level of the NCHMCT JEE 2022 question paper is expected to be easy to moderate. Going by the previous year’s paper analysis, the section on Numerical Ability & Quantitative Aptitude will be a tricky one for students, while the rest should be moderately easy. Logical Reasoning & Deductions will be a moderately difficult section while the English Language section comprising the maximum number of questions i.e. 60 has an easy level.

  • The majority of the questions are based on the services and work ethics in the hotel management industry

  • This was the easiest of all sections

  • There is no fixed ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in this section; the answer which seems most appropriate to a given question is considered the correct answer.

GK & Current Affairs

  • The section majorly focused on current news and trending topics across the world in 2021

  • The mainstay of the section were sports, history, politics, science & technology, world economy etc.

Logical Reasoning & Deductions

  • The majority of the questions were based on verbal reasoning, statement & assumptions, and blood relations. 

  • The examinees describe this portion as moderately difficult.

Numerical Ability & Quantitative Aptitude

  • The section majorly dealt with mathematics chapters from classes 9 & 10

  • Most of the questions were on time and distance, age, work and wage etc. 

  • For many students, the portion was a bit more time taking than the other sections

The English Language section in the NCHMCT JEE 2018 paper had four passages for reading comprehension that were quite easy to go through and answer.
